Not sure what's happening; if it's this HAMB Tapatalk app, or this HTC Android phone, giving me the red X's.

I've been able to see most of Gary's photos for the last 10 pages or so; some come through, and some don't. [emoji17]

    Bomb's, Stephen's and loudbang's are fine.

    I haven't seen Redlands's or swi66's photos for the last three weeks...all I see are the red X's. [emoji17]

    Hello,

From 1966 to 1968, we made many trips up to San Francisco for vacations, concerts, and car shows. It was the 1967 Summer of Love and the feeling in the air was powerful. The surrounding areas were packed with young people from all over the USA. There were some war protesters, but the majority of the people were so laid back that it was a fun atmosphere.

The skirmish across the ocean did not phase too many people here in S.F. It was a social awareness event although the radical protesters were trying to make it a huge scene. The music, the young people, the clothing/dress, funny looking cars of all kinds, it was a place to be just for the sights, if anything.

You could be involved as much as you liked. A lot of people just sat back in the huge park(s) and soak up the Summer of Love with local music events. The Golden Gate Park, the Buena Vista Park all were attractions that could not be missed.

    Jnaki

It certainly was eye opening, but the music of the times made it worthwhile. It did not matter what you drove, it was the destination and the "feeling" that was the draw.

The 1970 Lubbock tornado was a tornado event that occurred in Lubbock, Texas, on May 11, 1970. It was one of the worst tornadoes in Texas history, and occurred exactly 17 years to the day after the deadly Waco Tornado. It is also the most recent F5 tornado to have struck a central business district of a large city.

This one is of my full custom Henry J. Back in jan. early 1960 I customized it and did a number of Florida shows, mostly indoor all around the state,I drove it every were an it was fun,Olds Rocket v8 powered,no trailer like some used. To build; There was a close by body shop that let me take things from there bent parts pile and a good number of junked cars in near by woods to save something I liked from. What can be noted in this photo,Corvair bumper I had just got,58 Ford grill, stainless steel custom shaped fenderwells front an back,53 Studebaker coupe rear window turned around as a front, this I mated to 55Thunderbird folding top that hind under 59 Chevy hood turned backword for trunk lid/but gutted so also blended down back of car between fins. Fins were not dipped as made by "J" but straighten out along top kind of like 57 Chevy. Dash was from 53 Desoto{3 tunnel gages,an padded,Cont. deep dish steering wheel and 55 Chevy cream leather bench seat. Hood was wiped n bull nosed an 55 Buick fender EX {6 of} turned around to look like intakes side by,looking like 3x2 scoops down center of hood. There a lot more mods done I could list. Thanks for posting my old custom.

Wow this photo says so many things! The primitive machine, the youthful and daring driver. What could possibly go wrong? I cringe just thinking about some of the things I did. It's a miracle any of us made it through our youth. Testosterone is a pretty dangerous chemical!

    .

"GM has developed many concept vehicles for the US Army over the years. In the Fall of 1944, Chevy rolled out this T-28 Armored Car prototype for a review. It was designated as the M38 after it was selected for production. M38 production was later cancelled as there was no apparent need for a new armored car as WWII was coming to an end." 18518028_1129088427236708_4989989928012029639_o.jpg

  24. Remember when these weren't old or "vintage" (dumb term)?? They were just cars?
