No one said it was going to be easy. ;) It reminds me of my favorite part of Apollo 13 when they dumped all the stuff on the table and said "We have to make this fit that only using what's here." or something close. I knew then there was a place for hot rodders in the space program.

Blue, Your frame is looking really good!
In your photo it appears you applied filler or glaze on the inside of the frame rail.
You should re prime before color to prevent bleed through.

During a break in the rain I was able to roll the chassis out and sand it.

Cleaned it again and back in the booth.
We are now waiting for a little warmer and drier-less humid day.....:D

On another note, I ordered a nice aluminum transmission pan and a new dipstick and tube for the C4.

I'm also working on the aluminum blocks that fit into the body at the side mounting points for the top.

They need to be shaped to the body precisely to prevent damage and distortion of the body when the post mounts are tightened down .

    Details :D

    Well the rain continues :D
I fixed the mounts for the top, Rod Tops had made them but not well :D

Getting them to fit the inside of the body required some build up with aluminum and the Tig.

After that some shaping at the sanding station to match the wooden patterns I had made.

The weather is supposed to be nice soon so I can paint :)

There's plenty of primer on body, the frame and all the parts .

The wall is fair game to set up the spray pattern since my garage is only partially finished by some people's standards. :D

When my painting is done and the paint booth is dismantled the wall will be "abstract art " :D:p

Yes it does. If they are right on the weather forecast I should be able to paint on Monday. :D

    Wait for it :D
The weather was beautiful today and as the temperature went up the humidity went down.

I was able to get the frame painted.
And then I cut the grass :D

Did your "custom built" turbine spray system (which I want to duplicate) perform as expected/ required?

It performed really well. A most definite upgrade from the 3 stage turbine.

    It sprays great

    Washington blue can do that.
Yes it's a dark blue but definitely blue.

The blue may show better here.
Standing in front of it you can see the true color, a nice deep blue.

    Thanks I'm pleased with it.
The Uno sprayed nice. I put 3 coats on it.
It has a nice shine as sprayed.

If I want to later on I can wet sand and polish it.

Moving on to the body and other parts

That can come much later. No rush lots to paint yet. :D

Besides as you well know there has to be some cure time before color sanding and buffing. :p :D:D:D

The "blue one" is now truly a blue one! Looks real nice.

  28. Read the tech sheet and do the cut and buff at the earliest.
The longer the wait period, the harder it gets, the harder it is to do and longer it will take.

Okay thanks but since I work alone and can't delegate the task I'm afraid it will have to be later.
I'm up to my ears in other stuff believe me :D

I want to get everything painted before the weather cools down and snow flies.

The plan is for assembly over the winter.
