Here's a few more shots of my model a. Right now, the engine is too far back. I want to put in a T5 and move it forward a little like yours .

You should really ask @Charlie Stephens for some pictures of his. It's really nice.

Got the rear axle centered up in the wheel wells today. Also set the ride height with the coilovers and the pinion angle. Finished up the pedal clutch and brake assembly. And talked on the head. Fairly productive day

What kind of t-5 did you get? I'm thinking I might copy you and put one in too. Thanks

I used a t5 out of the late eighties S10.. some modifications needed to be made to the input shaft on the transmission to accommodate the clutch disc. But works great

Got an engine around? I have a bike with no engine. Might repower with something else but the bike is nice enough to restore.

Hey JT - what is the rear end you put in? I've been thinking about putting in a 1950 Olds manual rear end in, along with a '83-90 T-5. I don't know how this combination will work.

I used a 1998 2wd s10 rear end. I use the same setup in a 36 ford pickup. Works well.

Well, that's pretty smart. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Is it out of the exact truck you got the T5 from?

Also, you may have already figured this out... One issue that I ran into is that the valve cover on these things has zero clearance. So to use anything but the stock rockers requires a new valve cover.

No... the t5 was out of a 93 I believe. The 2wd and 4wd rear ends are different widths tho. I ran a 2wd one

  17. Just found your thread. Enjoyed the read. You found a beautiful car to start with, are you leaving it unchopped?

Found an old alternator bracket that was almost perfect for this application. The last project I use one of these engines in gave me fits trying to line up the pulleys. This one is being easy so far.[IMG][IMG]

Hey. Since you have easy access to the back of your engine, do you mind seeing if there's anywhere to hook up a water temperature probe on the back? Or do you have to do it on the front? I know the straight 6 has one.

Nothing on the back of the head... I think you have to go off the front housing...

Ok - Got another question for you. I finally found a T-5 that should work well. What is the bell housing you are using? Is it a GM2 (I think that's what people call it)?

  30. That is an awesome pedal set up, can you give some more specifics/close ups? any flex issues not having support from the left? What a space saver, I love it.
