Are any members of the hamb posting photos or information of what's currently happening? Where can I find some day by day info? thx.
Audio feed on Landracing.com, but doesn't look like it's up yet. SCTA posts daily runs/results on their site, but it's usually a day after. (Saturday results posted Sunday)
the HAMB's RonnieRoadster went 203 today with the Ardun on the short course which I think qualifies him for the long course
Yes, need to go 175 on the short course to qualify for long course. 203 in an Ardun powered lakester. Very Nice!
You need to go over 175 in the first 1/4 mile of the 2 mile to the 3 mile to qualify to run the long course of up to 5 miles. At 203 I'm pretty sure he achieved that.
7AM this morning, Bonneville salt flats, the Ron's Hobby Shop (CT) car is readied for its backup run on the 203 yesterday mark.
Well Ron jr is in the record books with a two way of 200.6. Then the flatmaster himself, RonnieRoadster went out the back door at 223 today with the Ardun! Let's hope for a good backup to that number, tomorrow I suspect.
Is there still a low power FM broadcast done at the salt? I'm listening to livestream at home right now, but in 2012, I was able to listen in with my ipod's FM receiver and earphone in my ear, while there.
Hot Rod network has a gallery of 96 pics from this weekend on the salt http://www.hotrod.com/articles/firs...eek-2017/#001-2017-bonneville-speed-week-scta
SCTA site posted runs and records for August 12th and 13th. Sounds like Ronnie Roadster got a red hat!!!!! Congrats!!!!
https://www.facebook.com/pg/BangShiftNation/videos/?ref=page_internal Bang Shift live video. Looks pretty windy this morning.
Thanks for the updates and pics. No better place on Earth to view a sunrise than from impound on the salt! Congratulations to the San Giovanni family and entire crew on reaching this milestone after all the efforts over the years. Ed
Pics from Ron's pit from the weekend, found them on SCTA website which has tons of pics http://www.scta-bni.org/sw-race-results.html
So it's 'redhat ronnie' now. I emailed him yesterday to see how he was going, now I know why he didn't reply to busy celebrating. well done Ron.
Thanks to Rich Fox for the video link sites. More pics & info at scta-bni.org, click on Bonneville. Daily run updates and pics are there plus videos up in the upper right corner. Saltcat guys reset the XO/BGC record and today qualified on the XO/BGAltered record with the big Bu back in the 84 Jaguar again. Thanks to Bangshift for the great coverage this year
The shot from the camera early this morning before daylight was interesting. You could see the lights from the cars and the pits as they were getting ready to go down to the line for the record runs. John
Listening in on the live feed, linked through landracing.com, while working on my coupe in the garage. Almost, like I'm there.
well the CT team with the Ardun keeps on churning the salt! Ron Jr. just bumped his father's new record (ink wasn't dry) to 225.003. Now father and son both have red hats. Quite a Speedweek for Ron's Hobby Shop!
That means they have to buy tickets for the 200 mph club banquet tonight. I've been listening the Landspeed racing broadcast on the laptop and it sounds like quite number of records got set this week. Evidently there was an accident on the access road that took the emergency crews away from the courses for a while this morning and shut things down until they got back.
It was an accident of two spectator vehicles not support vehicles. Here is a link to a local TV News video https://www.ksl.com/?sid=45436703&nid=148&***le=1-killed-5-injured-in-bonneville-salt-flats-crash John
Sorry to hear about that accident. Must have happened after I left. Just got home, man what a great trip! Will get a bunch of pics up soon!
