maybe painted since then? I don't recall it being that color.

 

I was wondering the same thing, it looks real familiar. I was going to post it on the "where is it now..."thread but I need to ask Where has it been?

 

Pretty sure she was the template for those fins! Looks like exactly the same angle upwards.

 

It was white. The Olds headlight bezels have been added since. I think the hood treatment is after this too but it's real hard to tell in these crappy photos.

It looks like the pancaking has been done in this picture you can see the line of the front of the hood just not the louvers.

 

Yeah, sorry. I meant the louver treatment on the hood.

Jeff Ludwig's '39 Ford at my car club's show, Jalopyrama, last Oct. Obviously, the pix aren't as good as above. One of these days I'll figure out how to use this electronic camera. Where's my 35mm when I need it?

 

Here is another Wichita Merc. This was taken in 1980 at a Fundamentals (Wichita car club) run.

Kool pic!! Do you know who owned the Merc? Hub's 40 Ford sedan is parked next to the Merc. I was told Hub's brother Arthol learned to drive in the sedan.

 

No clue. It is running a Fundamentals plaque, maybe Doug would know. @49toad

Love Starbird's 1959 Buick!

The last time we went over to the museum he told us the story of him and Jerry going to pick it up. He drove it straight to the shop and started customizing. He said Donna was not real happy about it.

 

This one just screams for some spotlight/mirrors!
(Like could be found in any "new car" AMT customizing kit of the day.)
