    jeff is right

  4. Yes you can flat tow that. That year still had a rear pump that the drive shaft will spin. I would disarm the ignition. As these cars will push start above 15-20 mph.

Hey Soup, doesnt that make it a bad idea to tow? I wouldnt want to tow a car with its engine spinning

  6. It won't spin the engine with the trans in neutral. But if it gets knocked in gear...it might be another story.

I'd still pull the drive shaft if I was flat towing any distance. 5 minutes to pull it and five minutes to put it back is cheap insurance. If you have a spare yoke stick it in the trans to keep the fluid in assuming that the car does run and drive now.
Stop and check your hookup on the tow bar after a mile or so and maybe sooner and then again about ten and 20 miles to make sure that it hasn't loosened up or shifted. The Tow bar I use wants to be adjusted a couple of times normally and then it is good for what ever.

  8. With the "pull the driveshaft guys" and I've flat towed some 50's Chrysler's state to state with out issues by doing that. Please grease up the front wheel bearings if going far....and check rear end fluids......

Dropped the drive shaft and flat towed a 60 T-bird from Tacoma, WA. to Springfield, Illinois. Put the drive shaft back in and drove the crap out of it.

If it was me, I would pull the driveshaft at a minimum, but borrowing or renting a trailer would be much safer overall.
