S terminal is correct, take the other clamp right up to the ballast resistor.

Didn't do a compression check mainly because i didnt have a gauge. I'm guessing my battery is dead. Hooked up everything and nothing happened at all

You need a test light or a voltmeter. Can you get your hands on a simple test light?

Battery is very low or i'm getting a short somewhere. There's an o'riely 10 minutes away i'll have them charge the battery and try again. The starter is clicking and the dash lights come on but as soon as i try to crank, lights die and i can hear the starter trying its hardest to turn but it just cant. Be back in 25 minutes

Well, just ran over to the store, they said it would be about an hour to finish charging the batteries in front of me they they'd charge mine so hopefully i get it back by 9 when they close. In the meantime i'll mess with the choke a bit

Got my carb fixed, did exactly what mike did in the video and my choke has tension and closes now. I still need to adjust my linkage though a bit because my fast idle gets stuck and then the choke gets bound up again

If the battery is low, the bendix/cog on the starter will sometime get stuck in the flywheel making it not want to kick off and turn fast enough but you can turn/wiggle the crank by hand, back and forth a bit and that will let it disengage.
Hope that makes sense, however that may not be a problem at all.

Since i can't do anything else electrical wise looked around at other smaller things on the car. I'm not sure what they were thinking but whoever repaired/replaced this fender REALLLYY liked bondo. It was already coming off in chunks but this whole thing as like covered in bondo. It's not like it's rusty. Anyway i couldnt help it, i chipped some away with a hammer :p[IMG]

You are going to replace all that bondo if you keep hitting it with a hammer and not using a dolly.

Damnit, even with a charged battery still nothing with both the key and the snap on. This is infuriating. Tempted to just rip out everything electrical and buy new shit, i can't waste much more time on this old junk wiring

How are your grounds? I replaced every single wire with the exception of the dome light and turn signal. Two starters a battery and jump starter. I spent a long time driving only when it was humid out. After a light bulb went off and I started to cleanup and adding grounds. Also my ground cable was originally attached to the header (doh) I replaced my cables and put it back. When I did the grounds I went back to factory and attached the negative cable to the body.

Ya, as mentioned before, you good manual, and an understanding of what you are doing, this forum is great, but you have to think about it like you are going to school...i/e, could you spend a few months on the internet talking with people, and get the same knowledge that you'd get while in College, then go off to work?...not likely.

Ask for a helping hand...I mentioned to you in a PM, that for someone that know's about your engine, it's probably a 30 minute thing to get it figured out.

Offer up you'll buy a pizza and beverages to a local HAMB'r, to come over and lend you a hand for an afternoon and actually tell you how the system works while you help him/her get it running.

    You'll need that knowledge.

Otherwise, what happens when you're out somewhere at 2 am, and the car won't start?

A few hours with someone who know's whats going on will benefit you for the rest of your life dealing with these old cars.

NO, I won't say go buy a Honda;)

Don't give up. Known battery, good voltage? If yes, then:
Check big wires from battery to their terminations on both ends. Wire brush the ground area well.
Hook up battery. Car in neutral.
Use a screwdriver and short the "S" terminal to the main battery wire on the starter. It should crank. Report back.

^^^^^^What he said. Also ask yourself what has changed since the last time it turned over. If I remember it did turn over on it's own before you pulled the starter or am I wrong??? Go over what you did looking for a mistake.

You may want to pull the starter again or just loosen it up and try to reset the bendix on the flywheel. It may be stuck.

Has it turned over since rebuilding the solenoid?

No the solenoid or solenoid wiring is the problem. It turned over fine before i took out the starter. I think i rebuilt the solenoid incorrectly. I did splice some ends onto the solenoid wiring since it was so old and dry rotted. I did have the starter out and i hooked a battery up to it, the solenoid did engage, but lots of sparks flew

That's where I am going with this. This thing turned over fine until he removed the starter if I remember correctly. I would start retracing all my steps to get it back to where it was.

I'm betting i put the solenoid back together wrong. Probably worth going and getting another one and making sure its the right length in the store
