Technical late 31 coupe mild chop

    never had such a hard time getting the doors off a car

    as the title says ... mild chop on a beautiful late 31 coupe with no patch panels in the body !

    Made up this piece so it's like a 32 styled insert since the visor was welded on ages ago

    still some work to go cleaning up the chop a hair and adding fasteners to the walden insert so it will be removable

    Thats the way to do a chop. Anything over 4 inches is a bad idea

  16. Some years ago Cad-Lasalle came over to my house with a couple of other buddies to do a 4 inch chop on my A coupe. Cad-Lasalle hammer welded as much as he could and it came out beautiful. After it was all done we measured it and it came out to 3 15/16. We still laugh about it.

    I just noticed that you weld lumps onto the door to cowl hinge screw "heads / slots", then weld nuts to the lumps...
    very... very good idea... consider it stolen !

    Full fenders and hood /nasty small block and a tremac 5 speed and a quick change .

    Great work, I've been thinking about using a Walden insert for a removable top. Will be watching this thread closely.
