Swi66 cool looking Rambler. Maybe the best looking Rambler I can remember. During the cruising days I remember seeing a car once in a while that would surprise you with a cool look with a set of wheels and the stance such as this car. Tach on the dash is a cool touch as well. They were pretty fast on the street too, especially with the 390 like this example apparently is running.

 

Looks like Jim Hall in the Troutman and Barnes car that came to be known as the first Chaparral.

 

You got me on this one. It looks like it's a Championship car with some version of a 6 cylinder. The exhaust looks strange but could this be a Wayne conversion? And the photos looks to have been taken at a big horse track but I can't identify it.

Is there any additional info on this one, Rootie? Thanks in advance!

 

emblem says 990...these cars had a 327 amc engine (that was developed late 50's to share with Packard and Hudson,but Packard backed out) with a torque tube rear end set up....auto or stick...also made in a 287 ci version....
pretty hard to swap anything in there.....lotta work....

used to see one like this in Keokuk cruising on weekends,late 60's......(diixie cream opens at 1am,everybody!!)

Holy shit!!!! That diner, still there, is in my hometown, Woodbridge, NJ. The Esso station next door is still there, as well as the grammer school behind the diner (Barely visible at the very top of this photo), p.s. #11. I attended that school. I ate in that diner about a year ago when meeting up with a couple of childhood friends.

The Reo Diner has always been open 24/7. Their slogan is "We doze, but never close." Thanks Gary for finding this one.
