57Volvo-010.jpg A friend pointed out that the picture I asked for help with is a 544.It has a one piece curved windshield. The car I bought is a 444 has a 2 piece windshield.I searched quite a bit to find the 444 I bought because it looks more vintage with the split windshield. It also has a lot smaller rear glass. Is there anyway to convert this car to a coupe.Sorry about mistakenly posting the wrong year car.If it wasn't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all.

I know nothing about photoshop. Can the work done on the blue car be transferred to the red car or maybe the windshield of the red car could be put on the blue car and the blue cars back glass can be removed?

I put running boards on mine, from rear of front wheel opening to front of rear wheel opening, dropped front fenders down to the boards , lowered it to the earth, 14 inch wheels/tires, molded rear fenders, '56 Chevy lenses sunk into rear fenders, etc.
trying to make it a "small "46-48 ford".
    Finally chopped top,
but nothing would get rid of that smell of the interior of an early Volvo,

This Hudson pickup is from a build thread here on the H.A.M.B.

Could one of you fine PhotoShop masters please replace the squared rear fender with the Studebaker rear fender and recolor it to match the rest of the truck? If it's easier, just recolor the entire thing a similar orange.

For fun with the rolling stock and stance, you could do one custom version, and one rod version. With your blessing, I'll then share them on the other thread.

    Thanks in advance!

Wow Moose thank you very much.I'd like to see it 3" or so lower, more if you think it'll look even better. Please remove the bumpers and mudflaps. This version almost looks like a chop is in order but i'm not sure, your opinion?

verde742 Can you please share pics of your volvo, build pics would be great.I keep going back and forth on running boards.

completely stock , dual side drafts, 4 speed, regret selling,
got great mileage and went like crazy.

Alignment of wheels and tires is distorted in pictures, was not like as they appear..

I don't know. Just enought to look right. You can't really leave it stock height though. The top looks much too bulbous that way.

The boards under the fenders with the fenders brought down to match really looks right, it's an issue I didn't even notice until I saw it this way. Very clever.

Thanks much, moose! But I'm not sure the Stude fender is any better than the squared off International fender. Thoughts?

verde742 a couple more questions about your pv.How thick did you make your running boards, also did you make them the same width of the front or rear fender or do they angle from the rear fender to the front fender? It's an awesome subtle mod that really ties things together. Thanks for sharing the pics and info.

They were bent out out 16 ga. with two 90 degree bends, about an inch or so apart, I made the "boards" almost as wide as rear fender and made the outside edge parallel with body, it turned out well, To start with I wanted them wider, but after holding them up, I liked the subtle look, so I "tucked" them under body, I got pieces from VW bug for fender extensions.
then trimmed the part under the body off.
On all of my modifications on projects, I like to make people wonder, "what looks different here ? " Just seems like more fun. (i.e. sectioning a car/truck, and leaving door handle and trim..)

I'm not real bright are you saying the running boards are narrower where they meet the front fender since the front fender is wider than the rear fender?Did you square off the bottom of the rockers?

Sectioning a 59 rambler American 2 door sedan ,keeping all the trim and door handles, is on my short list of cars to build.

after you bend the pieces, hold them up until it looks "right" >> The eye does not lie, the rear, and front fenders stick out further than running boards.

I did not modify rockers at all, I DID make sure drain holes were open to the underneath.
You will KNOW when it looks good,
IF it looks good, nail it, just get piece wide enuff you can move in or out, before you weld.
