    The ultimate big 'n little

The way it ought to be; but at a price. Have gone thru 3 sets of front tires in 50,000 miles, rear tires still like brand new.

in my world the bigs are tall and the littles are short. fat tires out back which are only slightly taller than the fronts are not bigs and littles.

I have always liked bigs and littles with the rears having a bit more meat - makes the car say its more of a "rot rod" imho ....

Austones (British taxi cab tire) 5.75/85 -r16 up front, about a 26" tire, Uniroyal 235/85-r16 out back about 32" tall

My old coupe - 185/75-r15 up front, 235/75-r15 out back ....
On fendered cars the tires must always be under the lip of the fender on the top ....

What's a spare tire ? :D With my 26 RPU it would have to be something that fit in a bandaid box that I could carry in my hip pocket :D

Larry, the only thing that will fit in the bandied box is a patch kit and 9 times outta 10 that's all you need, and some air. HRP

When these basketballs are aired up the rear/front width ratio is near 4 to 1.

I have been influenced by skinny minnies&wide hides ever since I saw my 1st top fuel dragster when I was a kid(I am 72 yo now). On my 26 Ford coupe I run15x6 on the front and 17x91/2 on the rear. These are American Racing wheels Torque Thrust spoke wheels on a highboy, this set up has worked out very well. I know tire sizes are getting tricky but I think someone will always make the sizes we want. The hot rod community is alive and well and as always we have a loud voice............

I remember when BFG had the perfect hiboy rear tires, both 15" and 16" LT's (first gen.)
When the scalpers heard they were to be discontinued they grabbed them up and the price doubled. Often wondered if they would reissue them if enough people asked.

Why can't every one on the HAMB email BFG to reissue the "LT" tire because it's a great tire for our sport. Maybe we could all do it on a certain day?????????????????

The coupe also wears late model radials, with 165/80r15's up front and 235/70r15's out back.

Bob Rothenberg's Willys is my favorite. I helped him change the front wheels to these spindle mounts and flat caps on the back from the knock offs he had. Also ground the lettering off the tires. BFG's 155/80R15 front, BFG sport truck 33X12.5R16.5 rears.
