Hot Rods 31 Model A Victoria Build w/Pics - Miss Vicky

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by D-Russ, Jul 6, 2008.

  1. Like you said Dave, it's not just your pictures, it's everybody's pictures that used a free Photobucket account.
I would wait and see how this whole ordeal plays out. A lot of people are creating a big stink. Who knows what's going to happen. Maybe Photobucket rethinks their decision.

  2. Funny you should ask.........when I read the article in TRJ about your car I went back the HAMB and searched you and your thread out. I had not followed it originally (i know, i know), but your car is so cool I wanted to see the whole build. I was very bummed to see the situation with the missing pics. You did such a nice job of documenting a fabulous build it is a shame it all got lost. I for one would love to see it all back.. My two cents worth.
Like I said, your car is off the hook cool, really nice job. Congrats.

Sorry to hear of your situation, do you have a deadline? If so give people a chance to save any of the posts/pictures and then tell Photobucket to go scratch! Hope to see Miss Vicky in the flesh, Carp

I'm in the same boat on photobucket I have two accounts with a combined 19000 photos on them. A lot of them are older and not saved on the two computers I have now nor on the auxiliary hard drive.

  9. Yeah, I'm using the image posting feature that Ryan built into the HAMB. I've replaced the first three pictures in the thread. This is going to take a while. :(

  11. That picture is awesome and still doesn't do it justice. In person it is mind blowing.

  15. Who painted it? And what color? Washington Blue?

  16. Scott Burnett, Kahiko Customs, painted the body and I painted the frame. It's a late 50s Austin Healey color, Ocean Blue.

Sitting here reading this thread in lil' old England, having also followed it here after the TRJ feature. I've worked in magazine publishing for 25 years now and know all about the big corporations pulling our strings. If you can bear to re-do all your work Dave, I'd absolutely love to see the build pics, especially the woodwork ones at the start. It'll help kick me in the butt to get back on with my own '30 Tudor.

  18. I don't think that you can take a bad picture of your car.

I feel your pain Dave. I had a premier account to eliminate ads, and it just expired last Friday, and I cancelled the subscription.. I didn't mind $25 a year but to jump to 400 is nothing short of extortion, Robert isn't playing that game. I still see the pics on my posts, but waiting for the hammer to fall. Glad to see you restoring the pics, this is an awesome thread, awesome car!

  23. Images on pages 11-20 are now relinked.

  27. All images in this thread are now relinked. Enjoy!
Now I have to start on the additional linked threads on the first page.

  28. I had to fix a pretty good scratch on Miss Vicky this weekend, so I mixed a little paint up, filled the scratch with a fine brush, and then color sanded and hand buffed the repair. This is why I like to use non-metallic single-stage paint, in this case PPG Shopline Urethane.
