Woah! That one almost got past me! Here's a full sized image. No FI flags, they would be on the quarters. But the script with no ''V" on the hood says a Stovebolt lurks within.

Making some progress. Here are some pictures of a 46 Ford sedan delivery I picked up this summer along with a 54 F-100 just a couple miles from home. Went to get the pickup and ended up with this also. Have known the guy for thirty years and never knew it had it. I had a set of really good wheels, Got some used tires from a friend and got it on the right set of wheels and tires. Purchased a set of NOS rear fenders, Most of the outside trim in NOS. Still need a couple of pieces. NOS front grill. Found a better rear door in Michigan but still would like to find a better one. Found another door in Kansas but the guy isn't ready to sell it. Still looking for a factory set of bucket seats. Found a set but the guy doesn't want to ship them. So let me know if you know of a Better Rear Door or Bucket Seats. 1948 ford Sedan Delivery 002.JPG 1948 ford Sedan Delivery 007.JPG 003.JPG delivery 007.JPG delivery 008.JPG door 003.JPG

  23. I love 28/29 Model A deliveries. Lee Bright's is one of the best.

    Dean,

Thanks for posting those great Lee Bright 28 Sedan Delivery photos. That is one of my favorites, too. The build was just perfect for my tastes. The look, stance, and rolling style, made my wife look twice and tell me that she liked it, back in those younger days.

I would also like to know if this great example of a sedan delivery is still around. Your posts from another thread mentioned that after the accident and being "totaled," the car had been re-built and looks fabulous, again.

We all know the old saying...proof is in the photographs. So, all of you Northern California hot rod fans and builders... Where is Lee Bright's old 28 Ford Sedan Delivery in its new build form? It is somewhere in the SF Bay Area.

From an old post in another thread: upload_2017-10-15_10-12-52.png

    Hello,

Rumor has it that the late, (from Dean Lowe’s post) Lee Bright’s sedan deilvery is still around in great condition. What ever the cause, reason or why it is not being shown or driven is a mystery to me. When I met Lee and photographed his sedan delivery, he was the nicest guy. My wife said he was a just a friendly, “big bear.” Ha! When I gave him lots of color slides and photos of his sedan delivery, he was so happy.

I had a B&W photo in "antique brown" of the cool ¾ rear shot the I put together. It was mounted in a handmade redwood frame that looked just like it stepped out of the late 40's-50’s. It was very prominent on the wall of our “antique” room for many years…until one day it was given to another hot rod enthusiast. It is out there somewhere.

So, for you guys in the S.F. Bay Area, the sedan delivery? It is out there somewhere, just like the mounted photograph? The whereabouts of this radical hot rod is…

I wish I still had the color slides of the original 28 sedan delivery. The paint was pretty nice. My photo office purge over the years took its toll on the negatives and slides.

After the 28 Ford Sedan Delivery was in the accident, Lee built another sedan delivery, this time a “Bright” yellow 1940 model. The build was just as immaculate. I was honored when he called me to set up another photo session. My kind of 40 Ford Sedan Delivery…

  26. Sadly, Lee is not with us anymore, so we can't ask him. At the Prowlers picnic, some guys that knew Lee said the car had been rebuilt, and all they could tell me was that it is up in the bay area, and the owner doesn't drive it much, if at all. I would hope it was rebuilt as it was when Lee owned it.
