I live about 30 minutes from Hershey. Will be spending all day Friday there with my son, Alex. He's a second year student in the classic auto restoration program at Penn College of Technology in Williamsport, PA. They usually have an exhibit near the Giant Center. Stop by and give some encouragement to the next generation of restoration professionals!

Penn College has a nice program. Hope you had a good day today-I put in 6.5 straight hours of walking-didn't buy much, but I had fun.

IMG_3840.JPG IMG_3841.JPG IMG_3842.JPG 10.2 miles wednesday, including carrying a cast iron head from the stadium to the main grass parking lot (note to self: bring cart even if you aren't planning on buying something heavy). Model A police head, 32 tunnel and dash (original), 2 model B fuel pumps and a coil. $385 total. Left a Super Winfield Aluminum head for $675 that I probably should have gotten. saw zero winfield items at all.

Earliest arrival ever, on line for the Chocolate Field before the gate opened at 7:00 Tuesday, rain Thursday so we knocked down things and loaded up, home 1:00 Friday morning. Great to see everyone, sorry I missed others. Off to unload the trailer. Bob

DSCF0056.JPG This was packed to the tail with stuff going down, sold off enough stuff to fit a 1934 MG in there instead of empty space for the ride home. Had a GREAT Time!

DSCF0053.JPG I haven't seen any lock ring Dayton wire wheels at Hershey in years! Bought the two 19' rims and then found the four lock rings across the field, Chrysler tube axle was found between them on the walk. If you look close the parallel spring pads have been removed and holes drilled for Ford spring perches, it was on a race car. Wonder if Big Ford truck spindles would work on it? That thing on the left is a 1909 Ford magneto field, that and the 1928-29 Pickup door top and who knows what else will get flipped to pay for Dayton hubs when a pair turn up.

DSCF0115.JPG DSCF0118.JPG DSCF0111.JPG I haven't had my hands on a Type 57 Bugatti oil sump in 34 years, now I own one, yes that was my find of the meet. Only one nut left on it, if you have ever seed a Bugatti nut that was all I needed to confirm what the sump was. Bob

Just go home this afternoon, my buddie and I hit it Wed. and Thurs. Got it all covered and found some great stuff and had a ball. I bought lots of hubcaps and wheel covers and other goodies, my buddie got some model A parts and some stuff for his 63 1/2 427 Galaxie XL. Perfect weather, good deals, nice people. Doesn't get much better than that!!

Nobody else had a shot at this, vendor and good friend on the row next to me had it in his trailer. He bought it years ago when the Henry Ford Museum was auctioning off extra items. DSCF0082.JPG DSCF0087.JPG You can still see the original layout lines in the metal, and bits of horse hair stuffing. Not saying it is the original out of this car, but it came from Ford:rolleyes: Bob

Sometimes you just have to stop and admire things that catch your eye, do I have a Chevy Sedan Delivery? DSCF0081.JPG No, wouldn't mind having one. Check the HAMB classifieds, maybe I can sell it and cover the cost of a 1938-39 Ford truck drivers door.

To sleep in my own bed and not in Hotel Colemen....WOW.
Met some Hambers and people from different countries.I think its cool that some of my parts are going to Australia and Sweden..Heard a ton of funny languages . I had this poor guy with what I think was a south of the border dialect asking me for a carb for a 85 Fairlane ? at least thats what he had written down. After about 10 minutes, I had to tell him I cant understand a word he said and he Thanked me nicely and moved on. I hope he found what he needed.
I only bought more big pistons from the firetruck guy..Hal Fillinger.. for making beer mugs, and thats it.There was a ton of stuff I didnt need while walking to the showers or to meet up with supper buddies but I kept the blinders focused.People were very friendly and most said good morning and such or responded to me very well.

I surpassed my goal of sales set this year :):):). Had to come home last night cause we are going to Super Dirt Week tonight for the WOO sprints and Big Block Modifieds . Then down to Knoxville Tenn Weds.to pick up a 58 Lone Star Cruisemaster Boat with my new found wealth. Thanks to the guy that bought 20 SETS of seatbelts from me for making that a ton easier to afford :):):).

Saw a TON of cool stuff once again. I like the steam engine shows but Hershey ALL WAYS blows my mind by what shows up. PLEASE bring a younger friend or talk your buddy into coming to this mecca of everything cool . We are blessed to have such a great opportunity!! Fedco

Great weekend. Walked around with the old man, Saw some cool stuff. Didn't make any major scores but I picked up a pair of Handmade Jimmy Jones Inkster pencil tip bubble Skirts. Now I just need to find out what they fit. DSC07538.JPG DSC07540.JPG
