I'm not a FB user but the boss lady is and she didn't know about it till today,Is this something Ryan did or someone else? HRP

Yeah, its administered by one of our members. I won't say who it is because he might not want me to for some reason. Its nothing like the real deal though.

Facebook is one of those sites that try to influence you into thinking like they do by controlling what you see and how its presented. I don't read it but I have heard a lot of people actually get their news off of facebook. Thats like only reading Pravda for your news.

 

Interesting comments. I've not checked out the HAMB FB group, not sure whether I will or not. I am on FaceBook because it allows me to keep in touch with friends all the way from the east coast to Puerto Vallarta and inbetween, plus I can keep tabs on what the grandkids are doing (they don't live next door). For what it's worth I've got a friend that builds old school stuff and he thinks the HAMB is just a waste of time and was not impressed with what he read. Now this guy does fabrication as I can only dream of. Gene Winfield "ordered" him to leave his car in front of Gene's vendor area for the day at KKOA. Another friend didn't have a lot good to say for the HAMB either until I sent him the link for Squirrels Chevy II Build. My friend called me and said I hate that guy! He was blown away by his craftsmanship and ability to use old stuff like my friend does. We all find what we want to find as well as look for other places that may better meet our needs. It never hurts to look at other venues. Remember the story about the woman that thought sex was a pain in the a$$ until she slept on her back?

I am notorious among the members of SFCC for my bitching about hotrod related stuff the post on Facebook and Instagram plus texts on their smartphones.
I am on facebook and do text a bit, but the facebook stuff I do is almost entirely for contact with old friends who live elsewhere, and local news that our half ass newspaper doesn't publish in a timely manner. The texts are almost totally to avoid causing problems for people whom I want to contact, but realize they may be at work or elsewhere in a situation in which a phone call is not welcome.
Didn't know there was a HAMB imitator on facebook, and have no intention of going there even if I knew how unless it's to discover whose name 56don doesn't reveal so that when I see him on the real HAMB I can send him a ration of shit in my comments on the real HAMB.

 

Well said, some people are paranoid about others watching what they do/say, use common sense when online, that's your best friend.

There is a facebook group for Hambmembers.
But it was not aproved by Ryan and he got pissed when he got
complains on how it was administrated.
It was to late to shut it down so it was made to a secret group and the
plan is that it gonna fade away and dissipear.

 

There's a "HAMB Members" group on Facebook. It's been there a long time... At least nine years, as I became a member of the group that long ago. I don't participate in or see any posts on that page, however. Just like 95% of what gets posted on FB, it's mostly a waste of my time.

 

I was curious if it had the Ryans approval.

Like I said earlier I was surprised to hear there was a hamb site on FB. HRP
