anyone have a check list on how to put together an engine....how about a wire harness?? I want to start a 318 V8 poly wide block....but I don't know how...I installed a new wire harness from ez wiring... but it doesn't show me how to connect the battery and other stuff....and I need to connect distributor, spark wires...oil lines...basically everything....I live in anaheim California... If you guys know anyone out here that knows about this type of engine or can help me out in anyway... please reply
sounds like you're a little lost,my friend. I would try a few of these sources... #1-find yourself an early chiltons or motor's book for the car (motor's is a brand name)--you can usually find one on e-bay. #2- you need some car buddies. it sounds like if any of your friends knew much about this stuff, they would be out there helping you. I am assuming they do not, so figure out when the next cruise night, car show, or drag race is and go make some friends.(after reading this, I sound a bit harsh, but everyone else knows what I mean)--and be prepared. Mopar guys are weirdos think of it as another excuse to drink beer. #3- now is the time to get your patience up, because you got a long way to go. that does not mean give up. plenty of the guys here have built cars almost single handedly. be prepared, and work smart. the last thing you need to do is go and get yourself hurt 'cause you didn't ask #4-check the Tech articles here. it is actually pretty all encompasing, and should be able to help you out!

The 318 Poly is close enough to the Hemi that there ia a chapter on doing one in Tex Smith's Complete Hemi Book by Ron Ceradono. So there are good tips for improvements/upgrades,many "tricks" for the Hemi apply to the Poly.
