Yes, that's Horn along with his 1948 Bennett Bros. teammate George Conner in the ex-Sampson car that was discussed earlier.

    The story behind this photo:
It must be Los Angeles/Southern California at mid-morning as there is a HELMS BAKERY coach in the background and a women at its door looking at the fresh breads and cookies. Been there, done that. Those incredible sugar cookies. AAHHH the memories!

German Farias driven by his son, Larry, who went by the nickname Fatso. I couldn’t find much about this car anywhere. In this photo, taken at Hawaii Raceway Park

What is the fifth car coming towards the camera? - the black sedan behind Buick convertible?

I know the front tire is off ground because front is on hook of wrecker. But why does the rear tire appear to be off the ground?

Also a little side note here.----During WWII, most everything was rationed,----Including butter!---My mom would take a wrapped cube of butter in her purse,----Then when the hot biscuits were served, Mom would open her purse & pass the butter around for each one to take a slice & enjoy that good taste!!!

In 69 or 70 Paul came to Indiana to run USAC sprint cars and , hopefully , walk into the Speedway on big brother's ( Parnelli Jones ) coat tails.

The first race was Reading, Pa which reminded him of Ascot and he did ok. The second show was at Eldora, back in the days before they took the banking out of the place. There was a flat fire-up lane around the bottom and Paul goes out for hot laps and runs flat out down there the entire session. When he came in and was patting himself on the back about how fast he was going, one of his crew tapped him on the shoulder, pointed at the outer guard rail and said " Paul, the race track's up there". Jones takes one look at the race car and one at the rail and immediately packed up and headed back to California.

Would have been interesting to know what he would have thought about Winchester, Salem, or Dayton had he made it to one of those tracks.
