Me and uncle Wes, probably 1949-50, Beachwood, N.J. There were only two cars in the family back then. My grandfathers 39 Studebaker President 4 dr and this Ford coupe, a 37, maybe a 38. The Studebaker was an elegant car, the coupe was referred to as "the fliver". It rode awful, was hotter than hell in the summer, noisy, just a miserable auto when compared to the Studebaker. It was replaced in 1951 with a brand new Mercury, which was nice but still not as nice as the Studebaker in my eyes. wes and me.gif

  5. If that is the date on the bottom of the photo (April 3rd, 1921), it is not a 1924 DB.

Thanks for sharing your family pix, a welcome change to the constant reposts of the same pix seen so often.

    Gary, I'm sure you'll agree.
All us greybeards should feel fortunate (I do) that we can actually look at these old photos and remember the good old days portrayed here, well at least some of them.
Not belittling anybody here but those a couple generations younger than us can't feel the nostalgia, sure they might think the photos are cool and all, but they just can't feel it.
I think I must have been six or seven when my older brother got a 54 Chevy wagon (used) for his first family car after he became a father, IIRC it was dark/light green two tone.
I don't recall going camping with it but I do remember riding in the back of that cavernous thing.
