1952 Pontiac Fleur de Lis concept car at the 1952 Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto,Ontario

"Two Pontiacs, both Silver Streak four-door sedans, were less flamboyant than the Royal Canadian. (Canadian Pontiacs, incidentally, were built on a Chevrolet chassis and used a mix of Chevy and Pontiac components for the interior.) The grey-white Fleur de Lis had a fabric and leather interior of grey-white and French Blue while its companion, the Magnificent, was finished in a less subdued scheme of a metallic green lower body and special new crinkle-finish champagne top. Inside were cream nylon duck and green fabrics combined with a forest green carpet."

    Addendum:

    Hello,
The downtown Long Beach store was very popular and the Marina Store was...well marine /boating oriented, as it was across the street from the Alamitos Bay Marina. This grouping of stores catered to almost every taste in styling. Most everyone in So Cal has gone to a Buffum's Department Store at one time or another.

    Jnaki
In recent years, in the Belmont Shore area, there was a store that tried to capitalize on the following, but ran into some tax difficulties. It was right on the street where the Belmont Shore Car Show was held annually for the last 28 years.

"Buffums was a chain of upscale department stores, headquartered in Long Beach, California. The Buffums chain began in 1904, when two brothers from Illinois, Charles A. and Edwin E. Buffum, bought the Schilling Bros. Mercantile Store in Long Beach. The chain started as an old-fashioned general store and it grew slowly over the years to a total of 16 stores in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties at the time of its closure in 1990.

Over the years, the stores gained a reputation as the “Grand Dame” of department stores in the area. The stores’ interiors were known for large chandeliers and other upscale touches. The chain marketed itself as “Buffums Specialty Store,” in an attempt to differentiate itself from other local chains."

The first attached photo looks like Paul Russo in "Basement Bessie" with Ted Halibrand and Ray Nichels. I'm not sure who the guy with the camera is. Is this at San Jose, Rootie?

And the second photo looks like Chuck Rodee at what appears to be the 16th Street Speedway. He won at least one of the "Nite Before the 500" midgets races so maybe that's when this photo was taken.

Is this car the inspiration for Brian Bass's 34 build on Fast & Loud?

They both have that come hither look. The one in the passenger seat looks a little clueless and has an open container on the door sill. Plus, they drive a t-bird. Oh! They're "loose". LOL!
