    Hello all,
I recently inherited a 1963 GMC 1000 pickup (no engine, transmission, or rear differential****embly) restoration project from my brother. It is currently stripped down to the frame which was sandblasted and painted so i'm pretty much building this thing from scratch. I do have all of the other parts (original & new) necessary to put this thing back together. There are quite a few auto\truck recyclers in my area so I should have no problem acquiring these missing parts once i know what to look for. I have no problems working on vehicles that are already put together. In a job such as this where I have to mix and match parts from other vehicles is where my expertise\knowledge is limited. I am looking for suggestions on where (year, make, & models) to pull the engine, transmission, and rear differential from in order to eventually get this thing running and back on the road. Any engine, transmission, and differential I acquire will be professionally inspected and serviced\rebuilt if necessary. I would also like to run four wheel disc and would appreciate input/suggestions on that as well. Thank you.

I was thinking a 350 but will take suggestions. It doesn't need to win any races. Thinking a Sunday/weekend driver for cruising but with some muscle.

Get a 350 from the junk yard or off craglist. I like 350s from 93 to 96 off caprises and buick roadmasters. Swap it to carb. Get a th350 and your good. Read up and learn
