hey guys, I need to replace my stock sway bar (front). it's too soft!
it measures about 35" link to link. 5/8" diam. does any body know
who sells them? or what car will fit? I have tried some major chassis
    mfg. they don't have them.

    thanks!

I think if you try looking up earlier threads you will have your answer. If you don't find any you like try helwig brand bars. Those folks can make one for you.

I've got a brand new set of Bushings in the Classifieds.
Misplaced the originals, put these on, and then found them. Car was never driven with them on!

Try these guys, they will make you a sway bar in any size you want.

  6. Do what i have done in the past. Take measurements of what will fit. Then go to junkyard and start comparing what you find to your drawing with dimensions. I can usually find something that works.

  7. Have you looked at the bushings on your existing sway bar? If they are original, guaranteed they are shot. try putting on new end links and bar bushings. You can use the universal sway bar link kits at the parts store, Basicly the same links for every GM car from 49 to the 80's, and then get bushings bar. I'm sure you will be shocked at how much better it works.

On my '40 Ford coupe, I replaced the Chassis Engineering front sway bar with a '50 Chevy sway bar because IT IS softer.
What I'm saying is the heavier Chassis Engineering front bar for a '37-'40 Ford will fit. Use the bushings for the Ford bar.

Polyurethane bushings will help over just rubber bushings
