Another great photo of the mid 60’s from Lions Dragstrip. My junior HS and HS friends from the Bivens and Fisher FED, “Checkmate.” (Jerry Bivens on the right and (late) Doug Fisher on the left.) They were top runners at the tracks all over So Cal back then. Today, the AA/FD has been reconstructed to mid 60’s specs with modern safety updates. You can see them at most big time “cackle” events in So Cal and the Southwest.
