Not sure if this one is classed as a Altered or not..? don't know if that is considered a tube-chassis by class rules..? Any way it's a good looking car..

I know "Pure Hell" on here already..
But I just run across the story on the car when it was fairly new and powered by a small block Chevy ..the feature story is in Drag Racing Magazine 1965 it's great right up lots of info on the building of the car and other neat stuff on how it all started....[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Both Rich and Leon's cars were blown right from the start so that counts them out and the roll bar configuration is incorrect for either car too.
I though that it may be this car from your post #238 but the roll bar is a little low and the driver's helmet is painted to match the car.

Therefore I am thinking that it may be this one from madmikey's post #212 although the bellmouth on the injectors looks smaller. The roll bar is tall enough and it also has the lateral tube for the headrest pad

Yeah, the Goodies car looks close, but the track in the burnout photo doesn't seem to match any that the car ran regularly. Just to throw a curve here.:)

In the mid 60s, we ran C/A under the 'Village Idiot' banner. We ran mainly in Ontario, upper New York and Michigan. It was a sbc powered 28 Tudor that was a respectable runner but our nemesis was Karbelt's 'Percy Also' which was a national record holder. We would generally race at 3 different strips around the Toronto ON area and inevitably Karbelt would also show. It was fun but seeing the back end of 'Percy Also' every run was maddening, but they did own a speed shop and I was making about $50 a week. An absolute awesome bunch of guys.

Wills Fargo was owned by Bill (Will) Kidd and the car ran a Dodge or as they were called in Canada, Fargo Hemi, thus the name Wills Fargo.

So what is the induction on the car in the near lane?
Kinda looks like a modified Rochester fuel injection.

I don't know about the Bantam but the T in the far lane is Charlie Smith's Plain Vanilla out of Oklahoma. Charlie was a two time NHRA competition eliminator champion and his son Todd is a well known nitro crew chief who is currently with the Kalitta team and scored his own championship with Jack Beckman in 2012.

Funny thing: that just popped up on Facebook today. It's "Orner Motive" FI. Kind of a tunnel ram setup.
