  11. Joe's Place Hamburgers at 2423 Blanco in San Antonio, TX. It has been around since 1934 and the griddle was made in 1928. Best of all, it still exists AND it has a 4.5 star rating (out of 5) on Yelp.

  12. Crown's Camp in Dickey Prairie, OR. First picture shows the "new" Crown Zellerbach office built in 1951 with the cookhouse on the left and bunkhouses on the right. The tower in the back was their radio tower. The office is still used by Weyerhauser. Second picture is of the houses across the road. They were built in 1946, the picture is from '47. All four are still there.

    Hello,

The Long Beach connection in one of its stages of Drag Racing… Tom McEwen, Jerry Bivens, and Doug Fisher. The late, Doug Fisher is in the blue jacket across from McEwen. They started racing in Long Beach in the early 60’s and had a progression of race cars through out their careers. My high school friend, Jerry Bivens still campaigns his newest Bivens and Fisher (tribute to Doug Fisher) AA/FD, Checkmate, at all of the So Cal cackle fests. The latest being the Barona Nitro Revival.

What a great hobby and continued interest in drag racing.
