Googling "A. Skaff Oriental Rugs" seems to place it in Detroit.

Address is 1255 Griswold Street; couldn't find a match there. Another listing from 1931 showed it as 6540 Cass Avenue which is now a parking garage.

  2. That's my mother and I in this picture. 54 Chevy convertible. It was gold, black top, black pleated interior, louvered hood. It had a Pontiac in it with 3 two's. It had a stick. My Mom couldn't push in the clutch, so it was sold. This was Cumberland Maryland, about 62, or 63. I was born in 58 and I look what 5 maybe? I remember my Dad street racing it and the top radiator hose blew off, all the coolant came out the louvers and covered the windshield. We couldn't see! 20171118_153003.jpg

Follow up to the pic I posted earlier. Just found it, provides a little more detail.

I like to research the pics I post rather than just grab a clip and throw it up for 'likes', but I have absolutely no info on this one, aside from it being taken in the UK....

Reminds me of the Beatles photo shoot in Hamburg when Pete Best was the drummer.

  13. X dragsters, a forgotten class for the Ford 4 banger. It once was VERY popular as an inexpensive and easier way to go racing. It went from a zillion cars to extinct from 59 or so to 63, then none.Nobody even remembers them now, very few pics of them.

VERY close to a junior dragster! I wonder what the times and mph were with these cars.
