In those days there were/was more that one dealing , a lot of cars were sponsored by drug money. 60's/70's san diego. I should know I was here.
I'm good with the ruling, I get it. I've seen a few threads where the cutoff was allowed to be fudged if the car/s in question were a continuation of the "vetted" ones. Kind of like how the 60-66 Chevy trucks are with the 66 being nearly identical to the 65's. Here is a little known fact outside the Chevy II world, the first year of the third generation cars (1968) were still badged as Chevy II's. So glad the mods chose not to close the thread.
^ Correct . I had a kinda rare one (68) with a 4cyl (4) door cute little thing picked it up for 90bucks drove it away never LQQKed under the hood , -n- was surprised to see that (4) cyl.
I get the ruling, too, I just feel that every once in a while the "powers that be" can turn their heads away from what's going on. Oh well, I waited too long to post photos of my all time fave Chevy II, a '66 sedan raced at Oswego Drag Raceway called "The Barbarian" owned by Jerry Wagner.
it is here in the classifieds https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1962-nova-chevy-ii-convertible-new-and-improved.1058030/
Traded my first "car" a 62 4 wheel drive Chevy truck for this 64 Nova. Had it for 6 weeks and was in a head-on crash. Friends helped me put a 63 front end on it and another friend's father put red paint on it. Played with 4 speeds, different V8s, and headers. This was in 1979. I still have the car, fits like that leather coat. I found the original Nova block before it was chained to a buoy for a sailboat mooring. Its white now and is driven. It won an original Nova plaque at the Chevy Nationals at Carlisle this past summer.
Here is my 65 shoebox...use to be a Catholic seminary car from the east coast...run as a drag car for a lot of years then I put it on the street and raced on the weekends at Detroit Dragway... post car with rubber mats, 4 speed with a 301 and a 5:13 gear, later 4:11. Had 37,000 miles on it when I sold it..wish I still had it...next guy back halfed and later sold it ..gone, gone gone
I've seen a number of gen 2 Nova two door wagon conversions, this is the first gen 1's I've seen. If you have a half hour you need to burn up; read the article in the link below. http://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/1965-chevy-ii-two-door-station-wagon-factory-original-or-custom/
