  1. GM headlights sealedbeams, 38 Buick, Olds, Lasalle, Cad units will get the job done, or drop the stock ones.

I have sealed beams behind my 36 lens. Been that way for thirty years, can see plenty good. No problem.

  4. ok!

  5. Eleminate the stock headlights and mold in the GM headlight pods with sealdbeams

    It,s not the Calori coupe.
It,s John Fisher,s from the Choppers

  10. So fast to correct people, I was saying kustom touches ala The Calori Coupe..40 Chevy headlights, LaSalle grille insert . Nice chop.. thank you..

  11. Fishers car was done by Scott Guildner around 2000 while I was working for Scott, I did a lot of the chassis work on it, Scott has "The Eye" chopped it perfect. JW

  15. Wow, what a question. I think you need a copy of the restoration guidelines from the Early Ford V8 Club, https://www.earlyfordv8.org/Shop.cfm?id=18&pid=2 You could also check what Bob Drake sells as being the correct reproduction.

You might want to get the book "1935-35 Book" from the Early Ford V-8 Club of America. It's loaded with information concerning how the cars were configured from the factory. Useful info, even if you're not doing an original restoration.

  18. not a expert, man that's why I asked... Yes I looked at Drake's offering before asking this question. There are lots of guys that know what is right or wrong on this forum(respect all opinions). I'm not a member of the Early Ford V8 club not a expert. "wow , what a question" sorry .. That's what it was and I got great response above. , again thank you

  19. The "wow" was there because it was such a small detail that would take a real '36 expert to know the answer. In no way did I mean that you shouldn't have asked it.

  21. I can relate to those "stupid little details". I went through it on my Chevy powered AVATAR.

  23. nothing major to report... bought the reproduction oval shaped bumper mounting bolts from Drakes... Went to replace the round bumpers bolts that were on the car... To my surprises the Drake bolts (square carriage part) would not fit thru opening on the bumper.. a little filing could have fixed the problem I suppose.... but I found a box of nos Ford Bolts... nothing better than nos parts... Fit like a charm... and they cost as much as the Drakes... much better.. one more little nagging thing checked off bolts.jpg bolts2.jpg

  24. So now I think another set of 16" rims and 6.00 x 16 Firestone White Walls are in order. Going to run another set of wheels with these Vintage Namsco (thank you Brandon B) Flipper Bar caps.. I had played around and had about three sets of different caps on my 49 Ford Coupe... (Lancers, Fiesta, and Plymouth cap... just a idea.. may need to see what the these look on the 36 with the Black Walls ? cap.jpg

    I
had sealed beams under my headlight lenses, and the 2 different diffusers didn't work for me, when the car was frist driven in the 60's 70' and 80's it had sealed beams only, then I added the lenses over. went to a Drake Halogen conversion and sold the sealed kit.

  29. I would also recommend the Bob Drake halogen light conversion with his new design reflector and the stock glass lens. Brightest combo you will find for the vintage headlights.

  30. Thank you Phil, Still looking into doing this at the moment... I have something items that need attention... driver's side regulator (maybe new rollers) or off the track.. parking brake issues... Need to get the tires re-balanced...not happy with them .
