That must be the original Harrys here in Brisbane. Research says the photo was of the shop at Newstead which in those days was the wharf area. The Harrys I remember was up on Petrie Terrace and there is now a modern version there. Stayed open late at night and had great hamburgers.

 

Does it blow Dixie when he hits 100 mph?

 

Keep Clam! The kids that grew up in Seattle area know this one well.

Maggie, thanks for this image. The officer with the sunglasses is Wally who was still on the force when I was in high school (class of '67). By then he was relegated to parking enforcement riding the Harley 3 wheeler and marking tires. We called him Wally the Meter Maid. This made me search for other pictures.

Springfield Chief of Police Bill Davis was the first vehicle to cross the new bridge. He was also a Harley racer.

 

Our police seemed to like their bikes.

Some great prints Swi66. I really like the early Packard (looks to be a Twin Six) and the Pierce Arrow (with that windshield appears to be a custom body-a friend owned one very similar). Not sure of the red touring as to its manufacturer. The other one appears to be a 40 Packard 180 and the tan car may be a mid 30s Cadillac ( appears so- may be a LaSalle). Great prints.
