Welcome. You've come to the right place. There is an amazing amount of information and ideas available from these guys and they're not unwilling to share. The biggest problem may be deciding which ones of all the opinions to follow, but you're not likely to be led astray here. I believe there are also forums that deal specifically with F-1's.

You've taken on a big job and in the middle of the project, it's likely there will be some times when you get a little discouraged by how much there is left to do (after you've already done so much), but keep going because before long you'll be almost done and you'll get excited about it again. Believe me, it will be worth the effort. Are you planning to do all the work yourself, or do you have some friends to help?

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply with such thought! I'm happy to see that I have found the right place ! I will start searching the forums for subjects related to my truck . It certainly is a big project that I've taken on, but I'm ready for it and couldn't be more excited! I have actually started a "Kickstarter" project to help raise the money that I need, it runs until Feb 15. I'm hoping it pulls through, and if it does, after I receive the funds , I will begin the work! I want to be part of the work as as much as possible, but am definitely getting lots of help! I've found one or two people that I trust with knowledge , (and plenty of people that say they "know" everything!) as well as my Father, who is still alive and well. He did most of the work himself when he first restored it . Although, I don't live very close to him so he's really not involved in the physical side of things , just available for phone calls!
Thanks again for your reply and guidance ,
    It's much appreciated!

P.s~ I was in northern Alaska last year for almost a month, and believe I may have left my heart there!

Welcome from nearby Maryland. Love those F-1 trucks. Good luck with the resto on it. There are lots of aftermarket and reproduction parts available to get and keep these great trucks on the road...................Don.

    Welcome Sara,
Sounds like your project is pretty special since it was dad's old truck. That makes the build up all the more exciting!

Maybe you can give a little background on the ole' girl when you get a shot. Those are always interesting stories to read for us car nuts , lol.

I'm sure you'll have fun learning and sharing stories with your dad along the way, which will be the best part of the build.
Memories are like vintage autos, they become more cherished and precious over time.

Good luck with your build, I'm looking forward to following along.

    Welcome to the HAMB!
Check out the FORDBARN too. That's a good resource for more numbers matching bone stock restoration type stuff. Though there's a lot of crossover in membership anyway.

  16. Welcome from Georgia. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendy horn honks. Do check out www.fordbarn.com. We are glad to have you here and we'll follow your project with great interest, but Fordbarn is more focused on stock restoration while this site is focused more on traditional hot rods and customs. Both sites under same ownership.

Welcome to The Greatest Show on Earth! Nice to see a gal that's into the old iron- out of my three "kids" ( now in their mid to late 20's), my two sons could care less about the old stuff. On her 10th birthday, my daughter said she wanted a purple Harley with a flame job!(and she still goes to shows with me) Good for you! I'll bet your Dad is smiling from ear to ear! Mike from M***.

Thanks Mike!:) My Brother, My twin Sister, and I grew up going everywhere with him in that thing! I am the only one that showed any genuine interest in it, after it was ditched into a field ,and that's how I ended up with it. I have had an interest in "old stuff" as far back as I can remember ! Nothing I own is new, and I like it that way! I hope your daughter continues to love the "old stuff" as well ! And yep, my Dad is smiling for sure, and although he doesn't show it, he's probably more excited than me! ;)

Looks like sara hasnt been updating!!!!

I have been helping out with the truck....

The frame was shot, beyond repair so i found her a replacement. And it now has a completly rebuilt suspension and brakes....so it is getting closer to the road.

She has been driving the truck a good bit. She has called me in to tinker with a few items here and there but for the most part it has been doing well.

Unfortunatly her father has past recently, but he did get to see it back on the road.

Always wondered why the Gals don't stay on here to long. A few posts, and then they're gone....
