Nice diorama and I like your use of the Highland Park Diner. That Diner is located here in Rochester, New York. It was built in the 1940's by Orleans Diner Company in Albion, New York and moved by rail to it's present site here in Rochester. In 1976 it became an OTB betting parlor and in 1986 was purchased and restored by Bob Malley. Bob has since sold it but it does remain a working 1940's vintage Diner.
Great story, l picked up that diner a wile ago and built the diorama around it, thanks for the nice comment.
So, with all of the '40s I picked up recently, I finally get to build my '40 Altered/Funny car. I got the bug to build one of these about 15 years ago. The front wheels will move back a little yet. Sorry for the poor pictures, I think my camera is almost done with me.
NICE shop...My real one was 50' X 50', ran out of floor with bodies and body parts. Built a mezzazine on the back wall; I solved that in a hurry. In your dio that would be above the man door, and toolbox...about 6 scale feet out, most of the way across. In my full scale shop I had a customer build me one above the back wall shelves...(traded 'labor': he was a general contractor, so I did him a 429 Ford shortblock replacement in his '64 Ford pickup.) The 'fence' he built around the floor section was perfect for hanging special hub caps, shells, grilles, and dropped axles. (had some V8 60 tube axles, too; and some 'wiggley' Dodge tubes) Cool addition to a dio, as the 'floor' is directly in the visual path of the 'beholders'. Also great place for the stuff saved for the next project! (no more "Now, what box did I put that 'T' bustle and tube axle???")

For years I enjoyed making small wood toys for my Kids, Grandkids and the Nieces and Nephews. I have a few antique and reproduction wood toys in my collection. A few months ago I spotted a picture of the Mulholland Speedster in a magazine and thought it might make a nice wood model so I made patterns and started shaping some pieces. With the cold winter weather the past few days I spent more time in the house and decided to do some more work on my wood version of the Speedster.
Monogram 34 Ford,it has parts from the early 60s kit and the 90s version along with the motor from the 40 p/u.
Oh hell yea,love the color on the roadster.Your mix & match,you swapped the Vicky body to the Phantom Vickie frame and vice versa ? I have a few of both those kits and looks like I need to try that
The 40 continues with some proper wheels and front end relocation. Any opinions on radiusing or opening up rear wheel openings? Also, have a parts bag woody with blown caddy under construction Camera is going south, sorry
Your really having a dilemma there with the rear fenders,I like it without but then again I like it also with.You can radius the fenders by outlining the inner fender from the top of the slick,dremel out the opening.Just an idea

That's exactly my problem. Although I don't think I'd like a full radius, but maybe take like 1/8" out to make the openings exaggerated.
