Getting ready to paint my 1951 Chevy Styleline gasser style. Looking for a red. Not orange red, Brandywine, or burgundy, Just a great looking RED. GOING base coat / clear. What's the hottest / best factory paint you've ever seen??

Have sprayed all the above at one time or another. All very nice , but my actual favorite is Ford Vermilion red. used on the 1990's 2000's era F150's and Rangers. A very red Red. Larry

Absolutely one of the most striking shades of red ever, though it will not look the same if the primer is anything but white. To my knowledge that was what Porsche used.
I'm pretty partial to the Bolero Red on my 67 Nova, more of a blood red but it depends on the light as you will find with many reds.
I could post it but the mods would remove it due to being too "modern".

  16. circa 1991 Ducati red (The shade of "Ducati red" changes depending on year). Requires a pink primer, in the right lighting it almost looks like it's glowing.

I parked my '91 907ie next to a modified Corvette one afternoon when I stopped for lunch. Came out to find the 'vette owner standing there staring at the bike. "Damn, I thought I painted my 'vette red but... damn..."

Nobody does red like the Italians.

1968 Chevelle code RR in the color books. (re-sale red to the rest of us) Matador Red. I had a SS 396 this color, looked great, ran quick, sold fast.

i saw a 2011 mustang that was sitting with the sun shinning on it. wow!! i asked the owner what was the color he said in 2011 they had 2 colors of red. one was just a bright red and the other was this one. i think he called it firemist red. it had a strong gold base in it and it just popped. it is what i want to paint my '54 ford gasser when i get to that point. first i have to finish the molds for the 1 piece front and doors and trunk lid.

I'm colorblind [red -green deficient] , so most reds all look the same to me.
That's why I'll pick blue or yellow over red most of the time.
I did have a 92 TBird that was a good looking red, to my eyes anyway. Might look like crap to anybody else, I don't know....

  27. 2018 Ford Racing Red on Ford Pickup's. That's what color I'll use on my Original Steel 1932 Ford Roadster a Pickup.
