  12. Bullet holes and rust....where have I seen this before?.....lol! IMG_1516071876.185758.jpg IMG_1516071895.822238.jpg IMG_1516071966.190867.jpg
The hole in the dash is an exit wound...looks like a .303 round,
It entered the firewall, came up through the firewall seal splitting it, and lifted the cowl band before turning toward the dash!
Not too many holes really, other than maybe a 22 that didn’t get through the windshield frame....

Found this smouldering 2 hours later,
    Firewall spent the night outside!!
Can't believe the feet on the firewall at intact with no cracks, and whoever put the heater core hose holes was a true gentleman!
A ton of hardware has been removed with no heat or penetrant!!(Rust belt guys will know of what I speak!)

  16. Great find! From the looks of it, it seems like all the original '32 body parts are hidden up there in Canada!

  19. Hey Guys,
The fellow I purchased the 4 Door from was good enough to send pics of the retrieval.
For you that are interested enough, the remnants were found on a hunting trip in the Ranger Lake area of Northern Ontario. Crossing The Mississaugi River along a labyrinth of logging roads taking a further trip of 45 minutes or so via 4 wheeler and related equipment...I'll let the pics tell the rest, so here it is loaded and ready...

  20. I really think it's cool and important to keep the story together with the rust!

I’ll admit I know SQUAT about old Fords and could never put together pieces of different cars to make a whole body much less the beauties that get produced by some guys on this forum. But I admit I am a fool for watching. Utterly amazing to me.

Quick question: Seems like the guys that REALLY know how to do this perform all the metal replacement, fabricating, etc and THEN get the body blasted & primed. Why don’t they blast all the metal first to reveal the bad areas and then determine/fabricate replacement metal?

  24. Hey Dan,

Sometimes it’s just a matter of making it rigid enough to make it to the blaster...lol.
Most of the time you just know where to cut to, pitting etc., are good indicators.

    Doug

I bought a pair of 32 roadster quarters from a local-ish guy 20 years ago. He said they were found by some guys hunting moose in Canada. They look like they spent MANY years in the Canadian woods.

  29. No, it was an A, and the frame(also model A)is under a Model A 4 door you may see on an upcoming Powertour....
