$6200 for the whole deal is pretty dammed cheap compared to a high end box today. I own and sell Lista boxes and a set like that would be well over 10G Well done! If I could talk the wife into it that would be on the list of kitchen Reno items. Then the shop to match!
I'd be concerned about damage in shipment across the pond. Some of the carriers along the way are not too particular about what they are doing. Any returns would be a big hassle for everyone involved. They sure look nice. Well done and all the best in your endeavours
We’re very fortunate in that one partner has extensive manufacturing experience, I have been involved in the logistics/transport industry for 7 years, this is something we have looked extensively into and seeking out the correct packaging and shippers was paramount. Damage in shipping unfortunately does occur time to time, it’s a reality. The packaging we have used is tailored for our cabinets, we stand by and will replace any in transit damage. After reviewing and visiting a number of distribution centres here in LA and seeing at times how poor these operations are we’re quietly confident we’ve chosen we’ll. Have many art deco pieces in the house, one or two for the garage would be fair. Right?! Those are Beautiful Thommo.
Wow! Those are awesome! I have always loved the old work benches but they are so expensive and hard to find. As for the price, seems on par with automotive industry boxes. Although I don't think I would use one of these in the trade, not moveable in the shop but I don't think that is anywhere near the intent of these. My Snap-On tool box was over $10K CDN when I bought it new and now that I have left the trade to teach, it is in my garage and is well used but not moving. I would love to replace it with one of these. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Just gorgeous!! Price is right for the size and quality My snap on krl series was $13000!!! New with nothing in it! Dust in the drawers was extra !! I know the dealers use riusso?? (Sp) and lista work stations and they are 10000 a bay or more for a basic unit compared to this thing!! In the house as a bar or something would be cool Told my wife when I retire my snap on is going in the dining room on display !! L
I paid $3000 for the crusty original one I have, $1800 chrome and at least a $1000 in materials to redo it. So I have at least $5800 in mine without any labor.
While, as mentioned I think these are awesome, I don't get the continued comparison to Snap-on tool boxes these are nothing like a tool box they are cabinets and really would function nothing like a tool box.
These look great, and when I get my business venture up and going, I'm sure I'll be looking at these a lot closer. Sent from my SM-G920V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Love these Thommo....! You guys have done a great job.... price seems fair to me. I'll just have to start saving some coin. Looking forward to the GNRS shots with Ben's 32. Maiki
I have a friend who does garage designs for RubberMaid and just for their cabinets you are going to spend almost that much,so it's not a bad deal. Those cabinets are so pretty, you'll probably spend more time out in the garage.
Those are amazing! I’ve lusted after them for years but have run into the same results as you. Way to take the bull by the horns! I’ve settled on this miniature version for now to satisfy my needs. Were the originals manufactured by Impco by chance?
Awesome job Thommo! I have been toying with the idea of making a psuedo replica workstation into a desk, since finding one in Australia is rarer than rocking horse poo!
Outstanding sir.Wishing you the best.Anybody that don`t like the merchandise is either blind or crazy or both. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
