Traditional or not, I think the young lady's wires are going to look great if she decides to keep them.... hope she does long enough to take a picture with them on there!

Alright guys, I know I've been absent lately. I've had quiet the setback. I recently got in a car crash and my 1994 bronco got totalled, though it does not look bad in the picture, it is much worse in person. The whole floor is pushed in, i beleive the frame is bent, as well as the rear axel. Sense then I have bought a new car, and am hoping to back on track soon. The pictures attached are what is left of my car and the new truck I bought. I should be getting back up and going here soon, I will keep you all posted![IMG][IMG]

Too bad about the accident, at least nothing HAMB friendly got wrecked.

Looking forward to updates on the Edsel,
    Good choice on the turquoise!

'Twas the night before Christmas and out in the garage, not a creature was stirring not a Ford, a Chevy, or a Dodge. The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit, so I figured I'd mess with the ole hot rod a bit. I popped the release and I lifted the hood, When a deep voice behind me said "looks pretty good." Well, as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick, and there, by the workbench, stood good ole Saint Nick!

We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say, and then he said "don't suppose that you'd trade for my sleigh?" I said "no way, Santa" and started to grin, "but if you've got the time we could go for a spin!" His round little mouth all tied up like a bow turned into a smile and he said "Hey, let's go!!"

So as not to disturb all the neighbors' retreat. We pushed the ole hot rod quietly into the street. Then taking our places to drift down the hill, I turned on the key and I let the clutch spill. The sound that erupted took him by surprise, but he liked it a lot, by the look in his eyes. With the rear tires a' crying and side pipes a glow, we headed on out where all the cruisers go.

And Santa's grin widened approaching his ears, with every shift up as I went through the gears. Then he yelled, "Can't recall when I've felt so alive!" So I backed off the gas and said "you wanna drive?" Ole Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys, when he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees!

Then the engine exploded with side exhaust sound! Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground! Power shift into second, again into third! I sat there just watching, at loss for a word. Then I heard him exclaim as we blasted from sight, "Merry Christmas to all, it's a very good night!

    Merry Christmas all!

Looks like you have some welding to take care of before you put those skirts on.

The skirts look good, glad to see you're still at it. I had to buy a set of skirts for my '59 just to figure out how the wheelwell opening was supposed to look. They were a very helpful guide.

Thanks! You're on your way to getting it finished. I'll keep up with this thread, and learn as much as I can about Edsel Rangers.

Will do! Right now, it's running on 7 cylinders, so next week we'll address that, along with the brakes. No P/B's, which I get, but jeez, I actually think an anchor will stop this car faster. It had new lines, drums, wheel cylinders, and shoes maybe 8 years ago but has hardly been driven. The master cylinder is damp, so that's worth looking over closely before doing anything. Next would be a full inspection of all four brake drums for glaze, leaks and check adjustment. Not major stuff like you're doing, but stuff that needs to be addressed.

For sure! I've got to all that as well, but I have a long way before I have to worry about that. It looks like a pretty solid car!

It is a pretty solid car. There's some rust, typical for a car 58 years old, but not too bad. The floor pans are solid, however, there's some rust holes in the trunk on the right wheel well. It's had new paint at some point, but all the body trim, along with the engine & interior is complete and original. Not even a tear in the seat fabric. My daughter has no interest in restoring it, as that's a huge financial commitment...she wants to enjoy it, just as it is. Throw her drum gear in the trunk, and go to a gig with her hoodlum bandmates.:D If you're interested, you can check her band out on FB, and listen to their EP. facebook.com/spirettesmusic/?fref=ts Visit her on FB and say Hi.https://www.facebook.com/snaredrumem?fref=search She's not on HAMB but maybe she'll join us.

Enjoying your progress...and surprised that I actually like the wires! Drop it about three inches, and it'll look just about perfect!

Hotrodmnm, you've been pretty quiet. Anything happening at the Edsel garage?

Unfortunately I have not made much progress, weather has been bad, we had a huge storm. And I have been super busy with work, but now that the weather is starting to clear up some. I am hoping to be back at it soon! I am sorry for the silence, but there will be progress to come!

Hey Hotrodmnm, great job so far. As far as your paint job, invest in some white epoxy primer and have the paint supplier tint it to turquoise. It might not be the exact hue, but will make the car look great while you tackle the body work. The car in my avitar is shown in its primer coat which it wore for 8 years before getting painted. I drove it all during that time, and that is what you need to be doing. Oh, don't have a sanding party. Do the work yourself. That way the quality will be up to your standards. It's a big car and will take a considerable time to get right.
