Vintage shots from days gone by!

What a great shot of Dave MacDonald and wife Sherry in the #98 Cobra. MacDonald was on the verge of becoming one of the biggest names in racing when his career was cut short.

And the second attached photo is from 1960 and shows Parnelli Jones leading another driver at Terre Haute. Rootie, I'm not sure who the second driver is but it looks a little like Don Branson. Any info on this photo?

Branson was in the Estes car in 1960, the paint scheme on that car looks like Elmer George to me.

 

Thanks, Rootie. I believe you are correct. I guess I was looking more at the driver's attitude in the cockpit and that made me think of Branson.

 

I say Elmer also. Just off his year suspension for punching Tommy Nicholson, USAC eastern official at Langhorne in 59.

 

That's exactly what someone else said! None of us can believe that they left those old bananas on the back floorboard either!
