I sure did. Thanks for catching that goof, mercman! That's one of my favorite customs and I can't even stay focused long enough to get the name right. The mind, a terrible thing to waste!

I had the blessing to meet the Chop It family years ago at the Spectacular in Lancaster Ohio. Very kool people,
I miss visiting with Gary but the family is still carrying on the kool tradition. You got to love free spirited kustom builders.

Thanks Mo for posting the pics of this kool ride, I would have to run it without a hood.

I don't remember having seen this version of the Empress. The paint job, and especially the stance, are the best!

What an imagination Gary Had. Wonder if he ever thought about Making Sci-fi movies. Creative genius, no doubt. I was in Lancaster, O. When he won the Triple7 award That was KKOA’s top award. Well deserved...

Sam Barris did the body work on this one, in 1954.

Got a couple of extra Chevy deck lids?

Belmont Sanchez' Stude was not a "custom", but featured a lot of custom body work.
It was the first door-slammer to break 200 MPH, hitting 231 at Bonneville in 1961!

AMT copped this look for their 3 in 1 '53 Stude model kit.

  23. Hey ‘Mo, do you know if it’s a coupe or sedan chassis?

    That, I do not know.
Much has been chronicled, as the car has been resurrected and shown at prestigious events,
There is even a YouTube interview with Bentas, (but interrupted at 3+ minutes. :()

I'm glad you are posting pictures again on the HAMB. Thanks for the pics of the Buick, I got to see the it at the Starbird show and love a lot of the kustom work. It never had the hood up while I was around. You took some kool detail pics of the grill. It's so dark with the hood shut its hard to take a good picture.
