This will turn out just fine. The real masterpiece will be the car Clark builds out of the pile of leftovers.;) Bob

Well one thing about it, it really makes me feel better about this rusty Model A Victoria I have sitting out here waiting it's turn. I only have the top of the drivers side roof to deal with cancer wise an a big dent in the back but I damned well knew what I was getting when I bought it.
I've got to say that sedan was one of the worse scab jobs I have seen for patching something together. You have to wonder if it was done by some high school kid fresh out of one semester of AG shop welding class.

I agree but think you missed some of the mind fuck that happens with something like this too ... money already spent if you get rid of it you know what the loss is if you spend the money to fix it it just became more expensive project that's it .. still your project, just like spending money on fancy wheels you didn't intend on or painting instead of just leaving it in primer

On clarks end I think he takes some twisted satisfaction ,like some of us do in fixing a cast offs,..most people would throw away ...and giving it a chance again .. like a foster parent for abused hotrods!

Not sure on that , most model A have been off road since salt was introduced , Minnesota uses tons of salt , cars over 10yrs old have holes the size of cannonballs there , west coast has salty ocean air too , are the body's found in woods ?, maybe it's tree sap and pine needles?

I don't know who came up with this line but it does apply here. "You didn't pay too much for a '32 Ford, you just bought too early". Looking forward to the Clark fix

Doesn' look like much got done today....but I think we did ok. Got rid of t he old drip rails....we have new. Got the new roof fitted and tacked into place. Lower back window needed replaced. Got that done. But we put it in about an inch lower than stock. Mail slots are cool but Billy's wife needs to see. Tried to even out the spacing of body lines like the side windows. 20180316_175637.jpg 20180316_175652.jpg

Next I need a door jamb measurement. Brace up the back and square it. The doors can go on then. Going to chop the doors first and match the cowl to them.

I did it a while back on a Chevy sedan and gonna try it on this. The back windows are chopped straight. The doors are gonna have a little angle in them. Not much.

Maybe a couple owners removed, I really wonder.
If You find yourself within a states radius of Ohio let's make it happen.

I might get to South Dakota this summer, it's closer but still pretty far.

I like the fact you have plans for the grizzle too.. I hate seeing any old stuff go to waste, I threw some 4dr 57 and 58 Chevy pieces away recently and even that made me sad , makes me happy to see the bone picked clean and more cars together ...takes a special individual to look at a couple rusted out doors and bits and envision a car and then it take someone with skill and tenacity to make it happen

Looking good. It's funny what you find under someone else's bad repair work.

  22. Clark, good for you helping your buddy out. He got screwed and lucky that you are one of the most capable guys to help fix it. Progress already looks good. So most of your patch pieces are from a 4-door? Did I understand that correct?

All the parts are 2 door. The roof already had some stuff robbed off of it.
Do I see you're in Ohio now? Maybe our paths will cross again.

HRP beat me to it, one of his most famous sayings. Usually comes full circle to being true, time had told us.

If those leftovers amount to a tudor minus a roof this could be an option...

Bought off the HAMB?!?! You should expose sellers name so others can beware. Even if he not do the “repairs”.
