Yes that was a unique way of two toning a car. When I got mine it was supposed to be a 215. Turned out to be 235 I sold to a friend for his 49 Chevy. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Tomorrow, order diamond back tires and some long ubolts to drop the back a bit more..maybe only 2 inches.
"I know, I'll put a camaro clip in, then fudbucket the rad in and mount the fenders and rad support to farmer welded supports off the frame. oh, and to save bolts and time I'll line up the holes n all three pieces so it' a bitch to try to align." Now the rad sits properly up inside but lots to do to mount it and seperatly mount the fenders. ugh.
Out goes the grill and upper and lower nose pans. That oversized rad goes as does the exotic rad hose. then there's that sweet bumper, rad, fender cluster fug. Oh yeah, some reworking there for sure. Going with a 3 core aluminum ran and electric fan. I sure love when cutting wheels let go.

Glad to see you brought it home. Already tearing into it, good deal. How about all white/cream for now, not real exciting but that brown is bad news. Keep the details coming.
I guarantee a repaint. That's 30 year old enamel on there far as I can tell. I've started shaving stainless now. I'll be into body work in April. is like to cover it up in anything but for now it'll do. I'll just wear a plaid sport coat driving it around.
a little shop clean up and a check of the tire clearance ... ideal. Still cleaning up the fudged rad/fender mounts. once that's done and rad installed it' line up the body panels and then put some 37 headlights in.
Just throwing this out there... Joe Bailon's "Miss Elegance" was a standout for many reasons, not the least were the rearward extended front fenders. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but EVERYTHING Bailon ever did broke new ground. Something you may want to consider.
I've seen that a few times and in a rod and custom mag from the 70s. I have been feeling around for a 50 Plymouth grill. So far been offered a 49 Plymouth and a 50 dodge... nope, it's got to be a 50 Plymouth or I'm staying stock... I like them both.
A few years ago I bought a 50 plymouth with the intent of hopping it and making a led sled. It came with a mint second grill. I love how once shaved most can't tell what they are. The ame goes with the 41. With some customizing, shaving and ( absolutely a colour change) only real car guys will know right off what it is. I love that, keep the minivan commuters who see it wondering. I keep going back to this picture. Once I have the 37 headlights installed I'll measure up to see if a 50 plymouth grill will fit or if it conflicts with the look.
I love the Plymouth grille. A couple more Chevies on the wild side, just for kicks! Out-board Ford lights are NICE! Truth be told, however, one of my favorite early Chevies (in this case a '47) wasn't even chopped. (I wish I had a better picture. Beautiful '56 Dodge Blue.)
love the old wild side Mo! spent the day twisting, yanking and shifting trying to line up old tin. The hood is giving me a lot of fun trying to get it to close right. it comes down, then has to be nudged into place on the back passenger corner. ....its Miller time.
end of the week. lots of misc. done. new fender mounts, shaved, panels lined up, a new tranny pan gasket, melding helmet ordered. Rad will be Tuesday, helmet Monday and a swap meet tomorrow. Bunch of trim and headlight pots for $100 for everything plus shipping if any interest. also looking for a complete grill surround if anyone has one.
I put a T-5 and a 55 Chevy rearend in mine. 3 inch blocks in the back and 1 and 1/2 coils cut in the front. Good luck with yours!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
