I am not a Hupmobile expert, going by the caption from the Pasadena Digital History Collaboration...so what is it?

That's kind of like thumbing through a boating magazine and seeing all these pics of boats with multiple bikini clad females hanging off them. Then you go to the boat store and find the boats don't come stock that way. Nor are the women offered as as option. So disappointing.

Not intending to divert this thread too far off the rails.
Johnny, this picture and your description are correct.
The photo @loudbang posted clearly shows the long trim and everything I stated earlier.
The only thing not easily identifieable in his photo is the quarter panel straight on.
I'm sure that your eyes are better than mine but until someone produces an enlarged photo I'm sticking to my original observations.

And no chrome moulds along the sills.

The interesting thing is the "Chrysler Forward Look" mirror mounted on the dash :D

Perhaps it's just me but it looks like something bad is falling out of the bottom of this car. The rifle hanging from the cowl is a nice touch...

  19. I reckon it is a Hup - but earlier - 1916 or 1917.

Too bad there's no "truth in advertising." Not even a "serving suggestion" in small print.
