Here's one I've not seen before. Popped up on the Studebaker Addicts International page on Facebook, yesterday. This is a new build.

    So far, I'm intrigued!

I love the caption on this one. "who snuck in with that shoebox Ford?" lol.
I see 6, maybe 7 shoeboxes in that photo.

Here's some shots from Rod&Custom October 1953 article titled " Kross Kountry in a Kustom " when Bob Hirohata drove his famed Merc from Los Angeles to Indy and back... it's a good story...[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Merc above looks so much cleaner without the triple cap lake pipes, funky hubcaps and stuff written on the quarter panel. I really like the reworked version. Not that it was bad before, I guess I just prefer it slightly less "accessorized".

In recent years, the term "Pancaked Hood" has come to be used for one that has been V-sectioned for a slimmer profile.
But originally, the term defined a hood whose dimensions had been "two-dimensional-ized" by re-defining the perimeter, and was loosely applied to any hood that had been made smaller.
This Ford is a perfect example.

Harry Bradley's "La Jolla" is another fine example of a "Pancaked Hood".

  30. I have noticed that lots of people say pancaked when they really mean sectioned hood.
