Looks like '56 Michigan tags on the Ford. I wonder what AFB this was taken at? Old barracks, it could be nearly any of them, or maybe not even in MI.

Btw, obviously a prepped-for-the-movie car, notice how nothing but the glass was masked when painted. I have a friend in Knox City, Tx who has 2 cars used in an old Disney moves, both painted that manner. When they returned the cars to him, they asked if he wanted the cars repainted back to oem, he wisely said no.

I enlisted in the Army on April Fools Day 1964 and was sent off to Fort Knox for Basic training about my fifth week in they were putting the finishing touches on the movie by filming the part where****** Galore and her gals fly over and gas the whole base. Our part was filmed from the top floor of the NCO building which looked down on the parade field while we were marching. So we figured it would be a far away shot so my buddy Frank and I figured if we would knock our helmets off when we fell we would know where we were, well that didn't work the way we planned. Instead they used a telephoto shop Frank and I were on the outside of the column along side a Black Sargent we all called "Swinging Sammy Simms" because he had a real rhythm in his marching step and that would make it even easier to find us but it ended up we were in a close up shot. They played the finished film at the base theater the last week we were in Basic in that close up brief second we saw our hands go up into our helmets and then it quickly pans off. So we had our moment of fame or so we thought  so a few years later when I was back to civilian life it came on as a TV movie so I told my parents, co-workers, buddies and relatives what to watch for and you know that part where they state "edited for television" well guess what they cut us!:mad: Took a lot of ribbing over that. But I got my redemption much later when VCR's came out the scene was in :D:D:cool:

VCR's...................they can be found in that warehouse where they store record players, telephone booths, tube tv's, and corded telephones.
