I called today ( Drake ) to find out about getting one; they should start filling backorders in a couple of weeks. Good job on the fan shroud, Rodster.

  6. I got my grille off ebay. It was $600. It was a repop argentina grille and all the pieces were stamped steel and welded together. For that price it also came with a new drake chin and chrome center piece, and all the hardware. It was really nice. I'm not sure if he still sells them. And it wasn't one of those argentina grilles with the chin all once piece. This looked like the original.

I haven't seen anything like that on Ebay.

  8. Yeah, I bought mine in 2014, and I knew there was a limited supply, he must have sold them all.

After trying to fix the original grill, I just found it to be too rough. I found that I could fix parts with the Alloy-1, but the repair just didn't seem strong enough. So, I was on the lookout for a replacement for all three grill segments.

I feel that I was fortunate to find these pieces.

Thanks to mbshafter for the center grill, and the fordbarn for the sides...

Kind of a no brainer if you look at them side by side...

I have been able to move the bars a little to straighten them by gently prying and the use of a heat gun.

    Rich-

I’m glad it went to you and your build. I spent almost a year looking for the right pieces. Your thread is an inspiration to get mine on the road. Keep it going.

I was concerned that the front wasn't gunna be low enough, but once it was on the ground, with the engine and transmission installed, I think the stance will be killer..

I threw a fender on it to check the clearance... and the look... it's gunna rock.

It's been almost two years since dragging it home.

I took it out for the maiden voyage this weekend.

  25. Awesome! Sounds just like my 40 did with ram horn manifolds uncorked.

  26. A BIG day for sure! Congratulations!

Dude! I just read all 8 pages and the only thing that could be better is more pages! Fun build, and you are doing a great job. This truck is going to be sick. Is the 9 inch pinion centered? What radiator did you use? I had no idea there was that much wood under the car. Was that a kit? Sorry for all the questions, new favorite thread.

The nine inch is not centered, it's a stock 66 Bronco.

The radiator is a Walker, bought used, and cheaper, on Ebay.

Yes, there are wood mounting kits for both the cab, and bed.

Thanks for the answers. I don't have one...yet. Threads like this can change that.
