It seem like we all have a way we want to do something and even the most anal Deuce guys don't agree with each other. A couple of examples- I tend to believe Henry installed the radiator cap the way he thought it should be but we build hot rods and nothing is written in stone so it will fit 2 different ways. I the 1932 brochures it is show with the raised portion to the front. But many guys like it with the small point to the front. Another bone of contention with the Deuce guys is the coupe & roadster trunk handle, some say it points up. While others insist it's down, this is my coupe and this is the way I got it. Do any more of you guys see differences of opinion within your peers chosen brand of hot rods? HRP
I think Henry intended the trunk handle to be up. If there was a Chevy guy behind him, (you get the picture) It also looks better up. It should not be in front of another panel. Just like a door handle.
^^^Hear, hear! Exactly. Confine the fitting handle to its respective panel! Respect it. Radiator cap should have its 'dorsal fin' to the rear, streamlined as such. There's a word that is often misspelled and misused: That word is 'anyway'. Any Way. Choose from many ways, but just choose one. Why the heck would someone say, "anyways"? So.... Any way you want these two to go, but there's only ONE way... the right way.
I always thought the trunk handle looked off. I solved my anal problem by putting a 1935 trunk handle on mine. Now it looks symmetrical to me. Yeah, my photography really sucks.
Mark,I suppose Jim liked it the way it was installed but as soon as I got home today it was on my mind and in about 5 minutes & a 9/16" wrench and has been reversed. HRP
I like the grille shell smooth, but I do think the trunk handle needs to point down to look right - regardless of how it was intended to be installed. Or perhaps keep it up (makes a bigger hook) if you need some place to hang your laundry or a water bag when fleeing the dust bowl towards California! Gary

This isn't the forum for that however I hate seeing irregardless; regardless is correct as in despite that or notwithstanding. Irregardless contradicts the original intent of dismissing something. As in the intent of the thread being a out different preferences. Whew, I got my mini rant back on track!
Now, I realize everyone has their position on most everything, especially car guys. That's the whole reason for the saying "an ass for every seat". But what I want to know is who's idea was it to reproduce 32 Ford grill inserts without a crank hole? A 32 Ford without a crank hole is like a 32 Ford without a small block Chevy engine.
So...If you're a street rodder with a dead battery, now you can't crank the SBC to start it??? "not if you're a Street Rodder"... I used to think about cranking SBCs. Then I'd change my mind.
After chugging down a cold one, it finally made sense.... The reason it's in this position is because it helps with aero dynamics and stability at high speeds.... Got it!
Damn... Now you got me confused. I never noticed the cap or handle deal before. But, if the brochure shows the radiator cap with the high side up I would run it that way. Even though I didn’t on the more door car. Now I’m a street rodder so I don’t have to be so neurotic about such things. I like the 35 trunk handle turned sideways but it does kind of look like a garage door handle.
I have spent a lot of sleepless nights perusing these things, even though I haven't owned a '32 for 40 years. I thought I was getting better, but now that the topic has been brought up I'm getting stressed again. Thanks a lot!
It blends in nicely with the center hood hinge this way. Henry must have saved a few cents on eliminating the ribs that can't be seen this way. Bob
I'm sorry, you are correct. Thanks for pointing that out. Someone told me they were Model A, so I did some research today and found out different. They are '33-'34 closed car & '32 3-window door handles with a flat base. The '32 sedan was properly on the belt line with a curved base. It is a long story how I ended up with those door handles. But anyways...
