Found a blog about it: http://karsoo.blogspot.com/2013/01/airplanes-used-to-get-you-to-pull-into.html Apparently that's "Bobs Air Mail Service on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles, circa 1938"
Hey Ct, do you know about The Roasterie? A K.C. coffee company that has a full size DC-3 on their roof to replicate their logo. https://www.theroasterie.com/
Some Antiquated stuff that I have in my collection. 1. One of the first signs that my grandpa used to advertise for his garage that he opened in the 50s. He operated this garage body shop and Wrecker Service up until the mid-90s. 2. 1958 Anco windshield wiper box 3. All laundry powder bucket 4. Hudson bugsprayer, Kendall motor oil and the plates that came on my first 51 Hudson when I bought it. 5. 1949 Frigidaire refrigerator built by General Motors. Was in the house when we bought it.
I worked on Beechcraft 18/ C45's making them into executive aircraft at Whiteman Airport and race track Pacoima Ca from 1960 to 1967 Kool stuff. they were in the bldg instead of on the bldg.
Thanks for the update on Liberty Belle, good to know she'll fly again some day. Dad was a Chief Armorer at Great Ashfield for three years, I'll always regret not asking enough questions about daily life on a B-17 base. When I finally started researching things on the computer, I found out Flight Crews and Ground Crews were housed on different sections of the base, and never socialized. That bothered me for a while until I found out you didn't want to know too many Flight Crew members, every B-17 that didn't return meant ten guys were never coming back. Bob
Okay my Harriet Lane hit moved here. Put on the mainmast and started the rigging. Will be finished soon.
I don't know if you guys are understanding this. This particular thread is just the announcement of the new section. There is a whole "Antiquated Section" on the forums page, and in that section there are a ****-ton of different threads with all these items in them. Post new things/additions in there. Lots to go through.
