Don’t drag me into this....And before you go taking on any supercharged Hemi dragsters, you better get the bugs outta that new car.I remember a string of 12 second passes out of your last highly anticipated “8 second car” the first half dozen or so times out...

Now,I gotta get back to re-installing this pedal assembly with the new roller bearings.
Looks like I’m finally gonna have a clutch that works like it should.[emoji4]

Motor comes out to verify bell housing alignment, and swap out old pressure plate for the newer, heavier unit.

After that,it’s mostly re-assembly and making passes at test n tune night til I can figure out how to drive it.
On the pass where it smoked the clutch last year,it caught a car on an 11.44 pass by 1/8th mile before the clutch shat the bed,so I’m looking forward to making some full passes.[emoji16]

Well james don't feel bad I'll be lucky if I can shovel my pile on the trailer to just arrive and stink the place up I didn't think a simple engine swap could be so damn complicated every time I think I'm gonna get to start it I find another issue

Jackson: Keep at it,Brother!Seeing that car run with that big whale in there is gonna make for some goooooooood watchin’![emoji16]

Scott you have to quit riding the clutch cause we all know that ford doesn't have enough power to burn the clutch out lmao

Did you put more bracing on the pedal assembly? Last year when we found out you were having clutch adjustment trouble, I remember Bob told me he added extra bracing because his Falcon clutch would flex everything under the dash.
Falcon/Mustang/Comet they all need more bracing weight cause they are too damn light.;)
Use 3" angle iron  Then I will have a chance:D

Mines really not that bad,Norb. The static pressure isn’t really enough to make your leg uncomfortable if you’re sitting at a stoplight for a while,I think most of the grip in this unit comes from decent sized counterweights, and insanely aggressive friction material.
This one is 1 step above the last unit I ran, which was a pretty great setup until my shitty adjustment and wore-out pedal assembly killed it.
I just didn’t wanna take any chances with it this year,so I went all the way to the bottom of the single disc page.lol

Honestly,my biggest problem (aside from remembering how all this shit goes back together) is going to be launching the thing. This clutch is like a light switch;it’s either all the way on,or all the way off.Makes it tricky to find the sweet spot where it doesn’t bog,yet doesn’t smoke the hell outta the tires either..

Which one were you running? I'm looking at the powergrip hd from ram or the 650 from hays. Both single sintered iron. This organic zoom has the same friction coefficient as a 78 LP. ... with a skip.

    Bob:
I was running the Ram unit you mentioned, which is supposed to be rated for approx 650hp.
I loved pretty much everything about it,and I’m pretty sure the only thing that killed it was my botched adjustment job, combined with a clutch pedal that didn’t wanna retract all the way, allowing it to ride on the throw out bearing, and cause all kinds of a mess.
The pedal pressure was real reasonable, and it was easy to drive.
I know I made it look hard, but it was easy...lol
