Swing bike used to call my shop, trying to sell them to us. I always told them no thanks. One day they called with a desperation offer to send us 2 Swing Bikes on consignment, no charge until we sold them. I said Hell, Yeah ! We put one together and wore the tires out on that thing. Fun as hell, especially if you took the spring off. The spring was the pussy setting. Tons of kids rode it, all of them begged their parents to buy it, but all the parents said no. Every adult thought it was too dangerous.............. of course it was! Months later, Swing Bike called and asked/begged us to go ahead and pay a heavily discounted price for them, and send them some money. I told them that wasn't the deal. Not long after, they were out of business, I think. Only wrecks on our demo bike were by my adult friends, usually after hours, involving alcohol. Still got one. What are they worth now?
Depends on condition of course like anything. I've seen them generally sell in the $600-$900 range for nice ones.......super nice ones even a bit more. A few hundred for an average one. Obviously $35 was a great buy.
Picked up this skip tooth "Sun Racer" a couple weeks ago. Looks like it's probably from the 40's or 50's.....anyone know?
Here's the place to go if you like old bicycles, Whizzers, Cushmans, minibikes, and what ever has wheels and a motor. Been going here for about 20 years. Everybody turns 14 again just driving in the gate! It is AWSOME!

I did not see this thread when I posted my Bonneville built bike in this section, https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/bonneville-bicycle-build.1107338/ I built this one last year X-53 turned hotrod this one is called Blackout, totally rebuilt the rear triangle to accept a shaft drive/extended tail dragger fenders/fork off a German made bike/custom bars-stem-seat mount ect. Here is an old Schwinn straight bar frame that I stretched out 4-1/2" and turned into a "foot forward design". At 6'2" it fit me very well and rode awesome. Took it to Bonneville in 2016 and rode the heck out of it. Then I decided it needed a motor. Bonneville is so huge.
Here's another one I sold. Found a rich farmer that will buy everyone I make. Wish I had both the bike and truck back.....oh well.
Rescued this frame from a barn. No headbadge but I think it came out of Cleveland Welding. The seat stays were just wide enough for a 3” tire and a cutdown Columbia fender. Used an old crank arm for the seatpost and a gel saddle for my bony old man ass. Rode like a dream...

I wouldn't cycle to the nearest shop but I like the old bikes they have style.id cycle to the nearest bar but id have to lock it to the railings and walk home
