I have an old Stewart Warner panel I'm installing in my jealopy, and I'd like some input.
I have the old style light sockets with bulbs in back of FOUR gauges- you know, the light the "W57" bulb with the ears on the bottom and one post and one wire. (The panel and gauge did the grounding)
Now I bought the bayonet-style LEDs SW offers, but now I need the bayonet socket, like Ford or many others uses as a side marker light. So far, I have no luck finding the correct ones Dash light.jpg SW Instruction for bulb.jpg or a SW part number. Can anyone contribute? I don't know if there is an adapter base for the 194/168 blade size bulbs(your LED)to your socket. I know there is one for the larger blade types for rear brakes on modern cars into the 1156/1157 sockets.
I don't think there is an appropriate replacement socket, as most of that size tend to have the socket as 1/4 turn.

Do you know what your original bulb size is? It should be stamped on the base.

I sent the original smaller bulbs I ordered back because I couldn't find any pigtails to fit inside the gauges.
Yes, the original bigger bulb is a T1003 (single pole, equal studs on the base). The smaller bulbs inside the gauges are T57's. I just bought LED replacements for the T1003, and WOW! watta' difference. REALLY bright. So bright, they drown out the other gauges. HA! 7000K 18 LEDs -replaces1156, 1141, 1003- And I have 3 on the panel. They drown out the others, so I ordered the smaller ones for the gauges, some T57 LED replacements on eBay, but they don't show the intensity of the bulb... stay tuned. I may have to go to another T1003 LED with fewer separate LEDs or a lower K. I'm just learning about this stuff. With 3 7000K's I could light up the night. panel lit.jpg
