Sorry gents, this is a hot rod site, not that kind of stripper. Anyways, I picked up a new cab recently and began to strip the old prime and rust off. Wire brush kind of sucks, don't like the way flap discs tend to change the shape of body lines, and 3M rolocs are great, but are expensive and don't last long enough. Happened to be in Lowes and saw one of these for $10 so decided to try it out. Removes everything pretty quickly, doesn't overheat the metal, and is pretty durable. Hadn't seen these available for a 4 1/2" grinder before, so I thought I'd share.
It would be interesting to see if these outlast the 3M Clean Strip XT discs. I've used the 3M ones for years and while they lose the square edge pretty quickly, they last long enough that I was able to strip a Model A coupe (main body only, no fenders) of three layers of paint with just 3 discs. Without too much effort the 3M ones can be found for about the same money.
I got a 7 inch one from Eastwood that fits on a polisher. They work great plus they strip the scale off of hot roll plate better than anything else.
My mind must be in the gutter. I just saw this "New favorite stripper" post, looked at the picture before putting my glasses on and thought either she needs a shave or she left something on that chair. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
