  3. Really happy to see you cruisin' on the streets with such a rare, original hot rod - once again, this rod deserves a full feature in HOT ROD DELUXE! Hopefully one day, someone on staff will notice her at one of the shows that you're attending.

Love it all, nice plus! Your doing super with that hot rod !!!
Over the years of driving my own 1959 hot rod . I'd been asked more then a few times ,why I didn't make many changes in my hotrod ? Fact is I really like it,just as I built an drove it in highschool from 1959 in to the 60s. So I've made very limited adds,a new steering wheel, want from gen to alt., added a folding top an chromed EX headers! So really just upkeep! My buddys an classmates in the 60s still see what they did then. Giving them a ride when asked,is for sure a time ride in to the passed an back ! With out a Flux Capacitor, LOL

Absolutely fantastic!!! Congratulations on the "driving her" milestone. Great work and effort!
Any plans to have Lanny take it for a spin, maybe allow him to "relive his youth"?
Hope you can provide a picture of the smile on his face if that is able to occur.

Mike, I bought that three two setup, shortly before I parked the car. I never did get it set up to run. I only drove it with a four barrel.

  12. So Saturday was kind of fun. My friend Chris (@2muchstuff on here) said hey there's a little car show in his town (about 30 miles from me) you ought to bring the BB over. So, I did!

I had a rough start after she wouldn't start again hot at the gas station but a nice person gave me jump start and I was off.

It was a reasonably cool/overcast day and was a lovely drive on some country roads! I might be a roadster guy???

    That's Chris's beautiful '32 with the BB.

We stopped by Chris's shop to do a little investigation into the "hot start" issue and ended up finding a broken terminal on one of the coil wires. I patched it up and drove the 30 miles home and turned it off a couple times and it started right back up so hopefully we are good! I need to change the ignition switch arrangement a little bit in the future.

All in all a pretty great day! The old timers (and a few young guys too) seemed to get and appreciate what they were looking at. There's no doubt that the BB is the real deal!

Very cool man. Is the 32 channeled a little? Something about it is throwing me off

  14. Nope. No channel. Dropped axle, reversed eye springs, dropped headlight bar, chopped windshield, perfect rubber and a healthy sounding flatty!

I think it’s the stance/ head light size and placement/ heavy chopped windshield combo that’s making the proportions look other than stock to me.

    Neat car

  19. Took the B.B. to a little gathering last weekend. There was an antique plane fly-in about 25 miles away so we took a little trip. It was a lovely day! 9E79342D-CF5A-4286-B525-66DDCBFBB7E2.jpeg 6F7F12F0-1621-45D9-98B1-87CECE75D185.jpeg A686A744-6DA1-4E71-9408-D110E1310FE0.jpeg BA8FE34E-6A20-4C68-8873-9B1CE5DDDCE2.jpeg

  22. Reminds me of the vintage slogan of the NSRA, "STREET IS NEAT". Only much more personified showing a REAL HOT ROD!!

I somehow missed a few weeks of your travels...the train pic and at the farm are so cool... I wish we lived close by...same stuff in the head, and in the engine bay! LOL

Had mine out tonight yet again...the big Olds thumpin away is pure heaven in my mind...

  26. Last weekend I had the urge to make an eyeball shift knob so I did?

I finally broke down and ordered a spun 11 gallon tank from eBay after not finding a vintage moon tank in the size I needed or that I could afford. It is a well made (in America I might add) piece. I'm not crazy about the strap-type mounting brackets it came with so I decided to try and fabricate some that resemble the old Moon tank brackets.

I'm working on welding the feet on today in between working on my trailer.

I'm very excited because we are surrounded by corn this year and I've been waiting for it to get high enough for some dramatic shots. Here are a couple of pics from last night after the cruise-in. (I kinda missed the lighting on this first one .)

I saw the shift knob last night at Jacks, was impressed, didn't see you around your car but saw you leave.
