That could be me! My dad had a 1953 Ford station wagon and we had a Shasta camping trailer just like that. It was part of the group of vehicles we came to Oklahoma in in Oct of 1957 from Ventura, Ca. Our group also included a 1936 GMC pickup pulling a small trailer and a 1937 Ford one and a half ton pulling a 4 wheel trailer. Still have the 1937 Ford and the two trailers. My dad sold the 53 wagon and the Shasta and the GMC.

These Cadillac kids have some bringins up as my grandma said. You don't see them sitting all over the fenders and hood like in some other pictures of back in the day with little heathens scratching up the paint.

I did it with that same series engine in a 60 Ford van. But it was 30-40years ago. Couldn’t figure how to get a hoist inside the van, so I just picked it up and set it in it’s mounts.

Los Angeles 4th Street Bridge... On the right, a winter daytime shot as there is water. Normally, it is fairly dry with a trickle running down the middle.

    Hello,

In the 50's, as little kids, our dad drove us over this Eastern 4th Street bridge entrance to downtown Los Angeles at least once a month. Later on, on our teenage cruises to Los Angeles and Hollywood, this was always the cool way to go. Only, if you like the seedy industrial areas (great food shops) on Alameda Street area, on the other side of the LA River. We had those places mapped out to experience every time. The food was not copied or offered anywhere else.

This bridge location has been in almost any movie or TV show with Los Angeles in the background or in its story line. Once you walk or drive over the bridge, there is this "feeling" that says, Los Angeles. The movies and TV shows seem to like the location for speed chases, crash and burn action, and shoot outs. There are too many to list.

It is always fun to identify this bridge popping up in the storyline or in the background through the windows of a moving car or truck. Driving over the bridge gives you the "I'm on a movie set" scenario, just for kicks.

The new 6th Street Viaduct Bridge just South of the famous 4th Street Bridge.
